Ado, Yesterday's post where you said your luggage arrived, I thought you were going to say the goodies you mentioned had spilled inside the suitcase, but was relieved that they didn't!. I'm glad you are home.
Now I am worried about all our Left Coasters on here, because there are so many news items about Hurricane Hilary, and flooding. One story said 'catastrophic' flooding, but I read it as 'claustrophobic' flooding.....Gosh, they both sound bad; I don't know which would be worse.
I got up at noontime; hubby had gone back to bed, and Nannie was up in her chair, but not reclined. I resettled her in the chair and gave her the yogurt and morning meds. Haven't gone in to check the state of her bed yet.
Yeah, last night when the game was over, I got up and said, "Okay, Nannie, the game is over and it's ten o'clock, time for bed." I guess hubby wasn't paying attention, because he asked me what I was doing. I said I was putting Nannie to bed. He said, "Did you ask her first?" I told him there was no asking to it; the ballgame was over, it was 10 PM and I was putting her to bed. Nannie didn't say a thing; we went through getting her up from her chair and into the bathroom. I think hubby was going to start in on her about was it her bedtime, and how come she listens to me and not to him....but fortunately he didn't. They always want to press each others buttons and argue, but I don't work that way.
Thought y'all would like to know Nannie's 'weather' forecast, as in: "It looks hot out there; that sun sure is bright!" Yes, it is. We are looking at a week that is going to get progressively hotter, up to 98 within 5 days or so, and no rain in sight. I sometimes wonder how I survived living in Nashville with temps like that, with no AC in my apartment, and no AC in my car! "Ah, but I was so much older then" ???"I'm younger than that now." (Bob Dylan/Pages)...or maybe the words older/younger should be transposed? Eh.
Have an appt w/ PCP Monday at 11 AM, for the usual 6 month check in to refill meds. Have mentioned to hubby that he needs to make an appt w/ our PCP also, and got the usual grunt as he mentally was digging in his heels. You'd think an appt was going to put him in terrible danger, the way he avoids even the thought of making the appt. It must mean he is afraid the doc will castigate him and push for another try at detox, but I know the doc won't do that, he'll just casually say something like, "I suppose you're not ready to try detox again, yet..." Oh well, it is hubby's problem, not mine.
My haircut isn't looking too much better this morning than it did last night. Fortunately I am somewhat of the mind that, at my age, I really don't care too much. Ppfftt! It'll grow.
For some reason, my left knee is much better this morning. The coming and going of the pains I get in various joints has me puzzled, but I can't complain when they disappear. This latest round of left knee pain was NOT from the gypsies, though, it was from that fall I took almost 2 weeks ago.
All for now.
heigh ho. It's nice and cool here, about 75. Still a touch humid, and a little hazy, so the sun is decidedly not bright. Turns out dh did buy large quantities of food 2 days ago at Costco, he just hadn't brought it all in from the car. And now there is a big stack just inside the front door. And I predict that is where it will stay until it gets used up. And just a bit ago he was shaking his head about how he sure wish they sold smaller quantities. Yeah, me too.
I had a painful run this morning. I don't know how this chondroitin stuff is supposed to take to work and I have little faith that it will. At least, it doesn't hurt all the time. I'm doing some decluttering today, and preparing a drop-off for Goodwill on Monday. I picked and prepared fresh green beans from the garden last night. Nom, nom. And the cherry tomatoes are perfect for popping in your mouth, warm from the sun.
Annie, those sound like lovely treats to bring home. That heat sounds miserable.
I learned a long time ago that its no use offering dementia sufferers a choice. They get frustrated with trying to make a choice and it pi$$es them off. Sort of like toddlers. There's no point is saying "do you want to go to bed, or what do you want to eat?" Better to just announce its bedtime, or here is dinner, or whatever. OK, off my nurse instructor soap box.

NJ22 hope some additional vitamin D helps
Tweety I took a vitamin D supplement at one time, but didn't seem to change much
Stars probably better if you make the calls too
Ado glad your luggage finally arrived
Yesterday turned out to be busy at work, got another new case after I had left and the meeting turned out to be an hour instead of a half hour. So I had to hurry and cut lunch short but I did get out on time
After work I had a glass of white wine while trying the new blueberry muffin recipe, think they turned out pretty good. Watched The Hobbit, which is still pretty good
Today will be a bit busy. In addition to the usual bird watching and lunch with dad I have a routine dentist appointment and a haircut.
Svengoolie has Konga, can't remember if that's any good or not
Going to be warmer today, in the mid 80s
