Hello again all.
So as Ive been toddling my way through my reviews Ive noticed...I'm bloody awful at select all that apply questions. Ive done them in Kaplan and now some in LaCharity and lets just say its not pretty. My test is on the 31st of January and I'm trying to see what I can do in between now and then, does anyone have any tips?
I know the idea of making everything true/false but when I come to the ones I'm unsure about, that's where I get in trouble. I usually switch around one or two things and boom, that does it. Anyone else have advice? I don't want this to be the thing that brings me down for the NCLEX, I feel like I'm gaining a rhythm with Kaplan.

I brought that Saunders Alternate formate book, the book is specifically on sata questions, reorder, hot spots and it come with a disc. I'm not good at those question either, and my test is on the 27th. So this last week I'm going to practice sata questions, delegation, and prioritizing questions. Almost everyone said they're no good at sata questions, but they pass their nclex. I think a lot of the sata questions are unscored questions anyway.
I may nose around Borders or Barnes and Noble to look at this alternative format. Does it come with testing strategies? Or does it just say "review review review?" I don't think I'd buy it because I have so many and I'm easily distracted. But its good to know what's out there.
Here's hoping the SATA are mostly ungraded- no base in fact but heck I like those odds. And good luck with your test date :)

I've decided just not to get too worked up over this. Can't expect onself to be able to conquer all of it in a defined amount of time.

I have found Kaplan does not give very man SATA question, however, the saunders CD is very good in learning material. I feel kaplan is more of a strategy approach than teaching data approach. That saunders cd will be the same question into your head time and time again....good luch

I often get the SATA practice questions wrong. I really don't know if there's any true way to conquer them. Either you know if everything to select is correct or incorrect, but I feel it's easy to start "analyzing" all of the answers which gets me in a bind! I'm testing on the 31st, too!!! I am little worried that I don't know all of the content the best I should. At this point, I feel all we can do is be the best prepared that we can be and have some confidence. I've been reading there are a lot of prioritization and infection control questions, I'm definitely practicing w/ those types of questions. Best of luck!!!!

I just took the NCLEX and had 18 out of the 75 questions I answered! It was brutal. I really suggest that you practice them. I was in shock because our instructor only added one to each of our tests in nursing school. I wanted to run screaming from the room as I got another SATA after another! Make them your friend and you won't be as shocked as I was!
