Hi wondering if anyone has heard how many people applied to the Srjc program for fall 2015. I know Srjc is the last people who I will hear from and the wait isn't easy at al! Anybody with any information state it here.

My friend last semester was on the alternate list and was offered a spot in spring. Later on they contacted her again and asked if she wanted to start in the fall. I guess it just depends.

Hello,
I received the dreaded email that said I didn't get in but I am on the alternate list for 2015-2016 academic year. It doesn't say that I am "high on the alternate list." Does this mean that my chances are slim to know?
I'm not sure what that means. I'm going to try and talk to a counselor tomorrow and see if they can help.

That may be what it means since some of our alternate letters have teas test dates already. But I really have no clue. It's such a frustrating feeling to not really know what this alternate business is all about. Geesh! Non the less I'll be there on the 22nd keeping my fingers crossed for me and everyone else in the same boat. Good luck everyone!

I was also told I was high on the alternate list for Spring. Also told that I had to take their particular Nutrition class (although I've already taken Nutrition) as well as their Psych prereq (not clear if that means both Gen Psych and Child/Adolescent Psych) before I would be considered for alternate acceptance (I've taken Gen Psych). A friend of mine recently graduated from the JC and said that students were allowed to take the Nutrition course during the program. I can't say that I'm not a little frustrated by the idea of taking 2 courses for the hopes of getting in as an alternate, and I also can't say that it isn't frustrating that SRJC still admits students based on lottery, not total merit (although I know there is a standard of merit that must be met in order to go into the lottery). Most JCs have moved over to total merit-based acceptance.
FDNT 62 and Psych 1A are required for SRJC nursing program. Also, college of Marin and SF city college still do lotteries as well. I don't like it either but I feel super lucky I got in
We just need to keep our fingers crossed. I would like to know exactly where I stand on the alternate list. Does it mean that we are in the next 50 students to be considered? Very frustrating.

Lets get a head start on forming study groups already! :)
I am planning to take a med term class in the fall to freshen up a bit before the madness begins.

I completely agree with you. I'm going to try and talk to someone next week and see if I can get some answers.
