U.S.A. California

Hi all! I was just accepted for the Fall 2010 ADN program at SRJC, and wanted to meet people that were also accepted to the program. :yeah:

Thank you for your help! i tried doing what you said and I still couldn't find the send messages button but I read somewhere that said I have to have 15+ posts before it will let me send private messages :uhoh3: guess i better start posting away lol Have you had any luck finding people who were accepted to the Spring 2011 ADN program??

Oh maybe thats so! Lets get those posts up! :)

Nope, no luck yet! Still got 6 months until Spring starts, so hopefully more will make there way here in that time! The first email I got said Fall 2010 acceptance, but I guess it was an error. But I am still happy I am in at all!!

I bet you're super excited!! Was this your first time applying? Are you going to be buying the books from the bookstore or seperatly? Ive been debating... Seems like getting 23 required books separately would be tough. I may just get the 2 HUGE boxes of books from the bookstore.

Darn, well i'm sure by then more people will have found this site. And yea I think we are very lucky to have gotten in with the number of applicants who applied.. even though you do have to wait a little while thats still awesome that you got in! I'm very excited, I was shocked to get in. Especially since it was my first time applying, so i'm very thankful to have been accepted on my first try! how about you, have you applied before? Are you originally from Santa Rosa? I think I'm going to make it easy on myself and just buy them from the bookstore. Even though it would save some money, I think trying to find them separately may be too much of a hassle. So what are you going to do in the 6 months you have to wait? Are you working right now?

That's awesome! This was also my first time applying. I was ecstatic! I knew it was a possibility that I could get accepted... but didn't actually think it would happen! I have been living in Santa Rosa for the past 4 years, but before that, I lived in Lake County for 5 years. I lived here when I was much younger as well. I currently live with my boyfriend of 5 years.

Ya, I'm thinking the boxes of books is the best way to go. We will be guaranteed to have the exact books we need. As far as the next 6 months, I am going to finish up 3 GE classes I still need and continue working. I currently work at a small doctors office as an assistant. But once school starts, there is no way I can keep this job (They are only open Mon-Thurs). I'm not sure what I will be doing for work. I think I may be able to get away without working because I have my boyfriend and dad helping me out... but I may need a small amount of loans. Not sure.

What about you? Are you planning on working? The schedule for Fall looks intense! Are you from SR? You'll have to keep in touch with me and let me know how your first semester goes and give me any tips/tricks you may come up while in the first semester! :D

Wow thats great! I feel like we were soo lucky to get in on our first try! Thats cool that you live in Santa Rosa already.. did you go to high school in Lake County? U must know where Ukiah is then.. that is where I am from and went to high school, I graduated in 2006 from there. Right now I am in Washington for the summer, I got up here on the 7th of this month then found out I got in to SRJC on the 8th lol my boyfriend is from here and moved back up here 6months ago to save money and work. So we will be moving back down the first part of August to get settled. Thats great that you and your boyfriend have been together so long and how nice of him and your dad to help you out! Do you live in an apartment in SR? I'm trying to figure out a good place to live. There's a possibility that I may have a duplex lined up to live in, but its not for sure yet... So I want to find a few backups. Do you recommend any that are fairly close to the school??

At least having these 6 months will give you time to get those 3 classes done. Plus, you can save up some money since you sound like you have a great job. Yeah, too bad they're only open Mon-Thurs, but oh well you will be plenty busy with classes anyways! For the first semester, I probably wont work. I want to get used to managing my time and having plenty of time to study. I have both of my parents helping me out, so I'm thinking I should be okay for now. Maybe next year I will look into getting a part-time job somewhere, but we'll see.

Yeah :D Lets stay in touch, I'll let you know of anything that may help you out before you start in Jan! I'm not sure if you have any way of getting my email off of here. I think it might be in my profile info?? If not its the same as my screen name with @gmail.com after it!
