Santa Monica College - Did anyone get in?

Published

After waiting for one year, I received an email from Santa Monica College to start in the Fall. Yippiee!! :coollook:

Did anyone else get in? And if so, are you planning to work part-time/full-time? What's the first semester like? etc. etc!! Thanks!

Hi, I know this is an old post, but I was just curious - when did you apply to SMC's nursing program relative to when you got in?

I applied last October (2010), so I'm trying to estimate.... I will probably get in next Spring or the following Fall, or possibly even THIS Fall (maybe last minute if people don't pass the nln?)

Thanks :)

hi Enthusiast ,

did they invite you to take the test? Good luck to you. I applied mid March 2011, still waiting to hear sth from them.

I applied October 2010. I got invited to take the entrance exam October 2011. I got an email in November saying that I was an alternate for the Spring semester and I could either go to orientation to potentially get in for Spring *if more people chose to decline their spot*, but I chose to forego my chance at the Spring semester because they had the option (based on my low position on the list) to remain on the waitlist so I'll definitely get in during the Fall semester (I called to make sure that I'd definitely have a spot in Fall). I have a few more GE/coreq. classes I wanted to get out of the way first, which is why I'm waiting. So I'll be starting Fall 2012 for sure!! :) I'm sooooo excited!

I'm done with everything... I'm more than "ready" lol. anyways. I applied on March 18th, So 18th is considered a low position do u think so? :) What date did you apply on Oct 2010

I have a spot for Fall 2012 in LA trade tech, but SMC is my frist choice. Hopefully, They'll call me to take the test, and I pass (crossed my fingers) it, start fall 2012. :D

Yeah, well the other reason I didn't take the chance was because the orientation was on the exact same day at the exact same time as the orientation for CSULB, which I was an alternate for. And I wanted to see if I'd get in but I didn't... oh wells.

Um... I don't remember exactly, I was living in northern california at the time and I came down to also visit my friend for her birthday, which was on the 17th. So it was sometime within a couple days before or after that. Yeah, they'll probably have you take the test this semester. Not sure, just depends on how many people declined their spot once they were offered one this past semester. Hopefully Fall, then you'll start with me! If not spring is only a few months afterwards :)

awww ZAR963, Sorry that CSULB didnt pick u ! r u gonna apply one more time? Also thanks for making it clear for me bout SMC. They said they would send the invitation to take PAX this month. Anyways, do you know how hard it is to pass with 114 scores.

Im worried now. I took TEA V, got 72, not competitive enough I know. they said PAX is harder. Do you have any suggestion what I should focus on? Physic and Chem, Math, are my strong subject. But I reading .. sigh*, I read very slow, im easily run out of time, also VOCABULARY , is it hard too? Biology is too broad too.

thank you ZAR in advance. :)

No I'm not applying to LB again, stickin to SMC, I love living here (I live 10 blocks from the nursing campus).

I heard before I took the test that it was a lot harder than the TEAS, which I scored 88% on like 2 years ago. I didn't study for the PAXNLN and I scored 132....
