Sanford Brown Nursing Graduates?

U.S.A. New York

Someone I care about shared with me that they are contemplating the Associate in Nursing (AAS) program at SBI Campus - an affiliate of Sanford-Brown and that immediately raised a red flag in my head.

The person has tried unsuccessfully to get into a CUNY (City University of NY) or SUNY (State University of NY) school nursing program. So, that is out of the picture.

Also, the person cannot afford colleges that charge an arm and a leg for tuition since it is impossible on the income of a part time employee at a retail store.

This is what I've heard/read about graduates from such institutions:

- Credits won't transfer if you don't complete the program

- Program not accredited

- No financial aid

- Poor passing rates

- Poor employment rates

- Can still take the NCLEX-RN since it is approved by the OP-NYS-ED

Are there any successful graduates from Sanford Brown Melville who can share about the success they've had after their AAS Nursing degree?

Specializes in Primary Care, OR.

From what I've heard the first class graduated this past fall.

I did have a patient who went through the program. She was a PN, but wasn't doing a bridge. But only took her a year to get through the program. I found it strange and I'm still confused. I decided not to even ask any further questions. I just know I wouldn't advise anyone to do it. Look at their reputation for the rest of their programs and couple that with ultra low standards.
