I am just newly registered for San Bernardino Valley College. I already have a BA from 1997 (not in this field) and am having a hard time getting a hold of a counselor but perhaps you all can answer this simple question. A couple of prereq's I dont have that are required are Microbiology and Anatomy. Does anyone know how recent I would have to take these courses prior to entering the nursing program? These are different I suppose because they are science based as opposed to me having already completed speech class let's say, back 10 years ago. If someone could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

All of the community colleges that I know of in southern california require that the science pre-reqs be completed within five years. You should look on your school's nursing website or trying emailing your question.

It's either within 5 years or 7 years depending on the school. You should go to their nursing workshop (I just went to it last week)!
Call 909-384-8931 and the admissions clerk will be able to answer any of your questions. Shes really sweet.
I'm actually planning on starting their LVN to RN program in March. They said I'll probably get accepted! So maybe I'll see you there sometime! You can PM me if you got any other questions.
