What Members Are Saying (AI-Generated Summary)

Members are discussing their acceptance into a nursing program, sharing their GPA, TEAS scores, healthcare experience, and decision-making process between different schools. Some members are also seeking advice on choosing between schools, clinical site assignments, transportation options, and class formats. Additionally, there is a conversation about being waitlisted and the likelihood of getting accepted from the waitlist based on past cohorts' experiences.

Hello everyone! I am planning to apply for SJSU's BSN program for 2025 and just want to start a forum for it! Feel free to ask questions and share stats!! Best of luck!

Did you have healthcare exp? That's a good stat

Yeaa haha I had 1000+ from working at a clinic and then I also had done the 3 core reqs🫠

I had a 4.0, 96 TEAS,  3 co-req done, first gen, and I have around 700 + hrs of healthcare experience.

What were yall stats? I got waitlisted and I had a 3.95 GPA with a 92% on my TEAS

I had a 4.0 GPA, 96% TEAS, 3 co-reqs done, first gen, and local.

Hi guys, I got in too! So happy for everyone who got in and who got on the waitlist! I think I'm going to accept my CSUEB offer instead since its closer to me. My stats were 96 TEAS, 4.0 science, all 3 coreqs, local, and many hours as a CNA. I didn't volunteer, and I am not bilingual. This whole process made me realize how hard it is to get into nursing programs...like fr WOW!??

waitlisted with a 4.0, 90.7% TEAS, no healthcare experience, local 🥲

Hi everyone!!

I received my email that I got in as well!!

My stats were 4.0 GPA, 94 TEAS, 500+ hours as a CNA, bilingual, and not local.

Congratulations to everyone who got in as well as those who made the waitlist!

I am still trying to decide between CSUEB and SJSU, so if anyone has information on either program regarding clinicals or classes that would be appreciated!🥲

I am also trying to decide between the two. I am closer to east bay, I live in concord and plan to work in the east bay after I graduate but from what I have heard it looks like sjsu is a better school? I am worried about networking since clinicals are only in south bay for SJSU and I am interested working closer to where I live. didn't think I would get accepted so I committed to East Bay but now I am not sure what to do, I would also have to figure out housing for SJSU 😭

I also wasn't sure whether I'd get accepted so I committed to East Bay as well😭 I would be trying to find a dorm or housing for either SJSU or East Bay so I really am relying on the programs clinical sites to choose which school🥲 Can I ask what you have heard about SJSU being a better school?

Their NCLEX for the past years have been higher for SJSU. Although, last year SJSU has a 99% and East Bay had 98% so pretty similar. I also looked at Sem 1 schedules and I think I prefer SJSU but they are almost similar. Also the social scene seems to be better. I think they both use great clinical sites though. EB uses Stanford, Kaiser, Fremond Hospital, Washington and John Muir. I did hear SJSU going through faculty changes but I am not sure if thats still the case.

I also got waitlisted! I had a 4.0 GPA (science and cumulative), 86.4 TEAS, almost 300 hours of healthcare, bilingual, and local. I think for now im going to commit to east bay and then wait and see if I get off the waitlist. Congrats to everyone who got in!😃

Also in their email they said they don't answer inquiries regarding waitlist position but in last years thread people said they emailed and that the department responded. Has anyone emailed asking abt their position?

Hi! I read your forum from last year. Do you know how many in your cohort right now have been waitlisted before getting in to the Fall 2024 start?
