San Joaquin Valley College (SJVC) RN Program - August 2025

Published

Anyone submitting they're nursing application to SJVC start date August?

@Michelleeee yes I had a lot of those questions, just basically strengths/weaknesses, working in a group setting, handling high stress and how I would handle certain situations, it wasn't too bad one I did freeze on LOL

What is your guys GPA and TEAS?
I have a 3.0 GPA which I feel is low and my TEAS is 79

I just hope I did well in the interview I know they take that into consideration

I have a 3.6 GPA with an 81 on the TEAS. @Alissaaaaaa2 I'm sure you'll get in because I know a couple people that got in with a 2.7 GPA and a 65 on TEAS.

@Michelleeee I had a bunch of those same questions as well but I think the interview went great.

@CTS559 That's reassuring! I'm sure you will get into COS your GPA is pretty high!

2.9 GPA & 69 on TEAS. LOL my grades aren't the best but I have a lot of experience in healthcare.
I didn't apply to COS, since I figured I wouldn't be picked LOL. I know people that have waited years & I don't have the patience. 😭

I hope you get in! I had to retake classes to raise my GPA so it's been a long time coming for me to apply 😭

If I don't get in I have two classes I'll take in the fall to raise my GPA a little more, and then reapply to hopefully get in to start in April 🙏🏼

@Alissaaaaaa2My overall GPA is I believe a 3.4. But for the main ones they focus it was a 2.9. I figured I'd apply LOL. I hope you get in too! I'm sure you will girl! Don't over stress or think! Your grades are amazing. I get the programs want great grades, but I feel it shouldn't count so much because yeah you can have perfect grades but what if you don't have the skill set to complete everything, you know? Just the loan part stresses me ouuut!! Also who can even afford 2200 a month for tuition? It's wild.

@Alissaaaaaa2 I believe if you go with the direct subsidized loan, you don't have to pay anything out of pocket until 6 months after you graduate.

@Michelleeee OMG I know I saw 2200 a month for tuition as well and I think that's wild. If I do get into sjvc im pretty sure I will go through my own bank to get a loan and go that route. I also applied to COS as well but I don't know if I'll get in. Plus if I don't get into either school I think ill try to retake my science courses to raise my grade

It's so expensive! I already have loans 😞 I went to Fresno state and have my bachelors I won't qualify for financial aide and loans are limited for me, I may see what other options I have for outside loans!
