SAN JOAQUIN DELTA COLLEGE FALL 2019 ADN

Nursing Students School Programs

Hey everyone I can't seem to find a forum for the Fall 2019 application for Delta so I thought I'd create one. I applied already. I like the way the new application is set up online. It was clearer to me this time around. I'm curious as to how many points everyone is applying with. ?

Me too. But with MJC not announcing their acceptances until July 1st, I think we both have a chance. I would be surprised if a handful of people (at least) don’t get accepted to both programs and go for MJCs program!! ??

@julw okay, so let me explain myself better. Lol .. So, I got a TB test done in December because I work as a nanny and it’s a requirement. The test of course, was negative. I did another test just last week for the nursing program and it was also negative. So, since I got the test in December, and again in June, last week, do you think I’m okay? I guess I should email them to double check!

Was the one in June a two-step? If so you are fine. They haven’t given me an answer yet if I need just a one-step or another two-step now since I had my last two-step in Dec. If you email or call and find out let me know! ? I have an appointment on Monday to get mine again. I just need to know if I need the second dose also.

My name is Julie btw, looking forward to meeting you!

@julw okay, I talked to Sunshine and she said you have to have a two-step TB test regardless of when you had your last TB test. I’m pretty sure it has to be within 3 months of the program starting. So I’m going back tomorrow for my second since I already had one last week. She told me she didn’t have a chance to update the student information packet before she sent it out to everyone.

And I’m Jenna! I’m looking forward to meeting you and everyone else as well.? July 22nd couldn’t come fast enough!

Thanks! When I spoke to her this morning she still didn’t know if I’d need the one step or two. I have an appointment on Monday. But counting the days it looks like I’ll finish on the 5th! Yikes! I have everything else done though.

Also I’m not sure everyone understands this, but per Sunshine, EVERYONE needs to have titers done for MMR, Varicella, and Hep B (if not refusing) and submit them to castle branch to prove immunity. She said the vaccine page showing you received them isn’t enough. Has to be both.

I had mine done already because I had no clue what vaccines I had when I was young.

I don’t think the packet was clear in this area at all.

Where do we hand deliver our FERPA and Student Signature page? I thought we had to just upload it to CastleBranch but I don't see an option for it.

@julw when I spoke to Sunshine, she told me to upload what I already have to show my documents are at least in progress. So, if you miss the deadline, you would be okay if you show that your tests are progressing. If this was the case, I would call and let her know just so she’s aware.

@Yaswei you have to hand deliver them to the health science office.

Why dont you guys do the quantiferon blood test for the TB requirement?

I've never heard of that? I don't see it as an option on the packet? Is that what you had done? Did they accept it? Sunshine at the office was adamite that I do another 2-step which I'll do but it really wouldn't seem like I need to since it has only been 6 months.

Actually, I don't see that on the immunization form but when you look at castle branch and click in TB it says we can do that. I would just do the 2 step to be on the safe side. I got a really late appointment with my doctor and I got a TB test done 2 months ago so I don't know what to do.
