San Joaquin Delta College Fall 2017

Published

Hi everybody, I decided to make a thread for everyone applying to SJDC's nursing program for the Fall 2017 semester. This is a good space to collaborate and share information, exchange scores, etc etc

The application was supposed to open "the first week of February", and today is the 7th but there is still no application or update of any kind on the site. Does anybody have any information about this? I'm getting anxious checking every day and I just want to apply already!

Thank you!

I emailed Delta yesterday and have not heard back yet.

Geez, this wait is killing me! My worst fear is being disqualified over some stupid mistake on my application or supporting documents.

I applied to Delta with 71.5 points. It would have been higher but I had to take a deduction for repeats. Back in '96 and '97 I failed anatomy 2x and got a W. not sure if I was deducted 10 or 7 points.

Anyone applying at MJC also? I just submitted my application. Any idea which program is better? cheaper?

I feel the same way. I really hope they post the rankings on the 19th and don't postpone it on the morning of.

I did not apply to MJC. Their prerequisites are a joke, but maybe their program is better. Delta has a more competitive nursing program, so I'd say it's the better one.

Hmmm. I thought Delta's criteria was far worse. I had to take a deduction for anatomy taken 20 freaking years ago. I was fresh out of high school and my mom forced me to continue my education. All I wanted to do was get married. Anyways, I failed anatomy 3x. Now at 38, I'm paying for my mistake.

Btw, MJC's ADN program is ranked much higher than Delta's, by nearly 400.

Hi, does anyone know when you will find out if your in the program?

The final decision will be given out on May 18th or 19th

MJC is ranked much higher. I did a tour/interview with both campuses and felt MJC was WAY more organized. CSU Stanislaus works very close with MJC graduates for the BSN program. I would take that in consideration, plus you want to look at the overall hospitals for clinical works (think about on-job networking). MJC's prerequisites helped with the TEAS, so don't discount classes that will help you with your journey. Best of luck!!

I submitted my application to MJC's ADN program today. 71.5 points for Delta and 78 at MJC. If I get into both, I'd choose MJC over Delta.

Well, tomorrow is the day! Good luck everyone

I'm counting down the minutes! Please chime in tomorrow whether or not you got in. Good Luck!
