I don't think there is a thread started yet. Who's applying?
I doubt they'll ever get back to me, but I sent them this email:
To Whom It May Concern:
I would like to find out more information regarding myapplication status. I understand that points are calculated based on thecriteria available on the ADN website. I am specifically requesting informationregarding how my GPA was calculated for my science prerequisites, as I believethis played a role in not being selected for the fall 2013 cohort.Understanding how the science GPA criterion is calculated is important in mydecision to apply to Delta College's ADN program in the future.
Please review the information below for my breakdown ofscience prerequisites:
Microbiology (4 Units): B
Anatomy (4 Units): C
Anatomy & Physiology I (5 Units): A
Anatomy & Physiology II (5 Units): A
Other criteria as follows:
1A) Associates Degree: 2.5 points
1D) 1000+ Hours Patient Care: 2 points
2B) Remaining Prerequisites: 10 points
3) Life Experience (veteran): 2.5 points
5) TEAS V score (86%): 25 points
Any insight as to what GPA the Health Science Divisionwould assign to this and the reasons for such an assignment would be a greatasset in evaluating whether it is in my best interest to apply in the future.
Thank you
What do you guys think?
Shye, go by!! You have a legitimate reason for wanting clarification. I'm quite sure people with way less of a reason have done so. It's a big deal for you time and money-wise. They absolutely have made mistakes before. If for some reason things were added properly, then you'll know why they are totaling your points at less. If they are making a mistake, then they will take care of it. I think the receptionist can be gruff, but don't let her bother you. They are accountable for making sure their interpretation of your points is done correctly. You can also contact -------------or --------------- who are the current and former nursing counselors. Only talk with them. But seriously, I would just go in. I've seen on this forum that when a mistake is made, they put you at the top of the alternate list, so you don't want to wait for an email response.
No response from Delta, but I got picked in the lottery at Pasadena City!Although I still might bug them for an answer just on principle...
congrats shye! so exciting

@soupdeezy just think: if they still admitted 60 students at a time, we'd be in!
