San Joaquin Delta College ADN Spring 2021

#Spring2021

Published

Hello everybody I just thought I make a forum for those who are applying Spring 2021. Had a question on how we send our transcripts if we did all our pre-req's elsewhere

Hoping I still get in. Alt 19. ?

Don't lose hope just yet. I believe last forum said they went down until #22 Alternate.  It's still possible that the other alternates that got offered will decline them if they got in to another program. So wish you the best. Goodluck!

Good luck to you! Don’t give up.

Yay congrats to all the alternates who got in! I’m anxiously checking my email waiting for the orientation packet LOL.  Is anyone planning on working while going to school? I’m not sure how demanding the program is LOL

So I asked in the fall 2020 forum what their sched is like and one person answered this.  Thought it might also help y'all to know what the potential sched will be like. And same here still waiting for that packet LOL.  Im gonna be a full time student so thankfully I don't have to worry about both a job and nursing school.

So if they keep it the same ADN 1 is Monday 3 hours on campus Tuesday Wednesday 630 to 230 clinicals Thursday Friday 10 to 1230 lecture. Expense wise I think books were 1500 tuition 400 something and then Kaplan is 150 a semester. There were also other little costs for polo and uniform. I bought two uniforms for I think 140

If I do end up going there, I'll most likely work part time. I have a CNA license so I will probably try to find something as a CNA

do you know if they meant this for overall price for books?  For tuition I assume they meant 4,000? LOL

No I think that's just for ADN 1 which should be correct I believe the first semester is 10 units(?) so that would put tuition at $460.  Not sure for the books though if it's not overall price then that would be crazy expensive I was surprised too.

Definitely! Me too.  I don't really buy textbooks anyways unless it's absolutely necessary.  I've always rented books mostly on Amazon.

Hi guys.  I just wanted to say congrats to all those that got in!  And for those on the alternate list, don't give up hope.  I was 15th on the list and got in on the day the semester started.  They actually added two more people a week after me and our cohort is only 40, so there is definitely hope!

Also, you are correct. The books for the first semester are $1300 and unfortunately, you don't have the option to rent them.  The reason being is that they have to be bought through the publisher as there are specific e-books, quizzes, and videos that are all online that come with it.  You actually don't even get a hard copy of the book unless you pay an additional $50 for a copied version.  The professors say that the first semester is the most expensive, but I'm not sure as I haven't seen what 2nd semester is like yet.  I hope this helps!

Congratulations everyone! I'm from Fall 2020. On top of what everyone said from my cohort a facebook group (if you don't have one yet) helped us share information with one another.
