San Jacinto College - Fall 2025 application

Published

Just wanted to come on here and see if anyone else is applying to San Jac for Fall 2025 admission. Was just curious of you guy's pre req scores, GPA, and TEAS exam. Just asking because I'm not so sure my scores are high enough to get accepted.

Thanks!

Here is the email I received from one of the Sr. Administrative Assistant for Central Campus when I asked about purchasing CastleBranch right when the application period ended:

"No, your Castle Branch should have already been purchased and documents are being uploaded.

The background check should be completed before the end of the application period.

The other documents should be completed by acceptance date which is 4 to 6 weeks after application end date.

Three lines are to remain blank; they are: blue card, drug screen, and physical, contingent upon acceptance into the program."

It looks like the background check initiates after you purchase the CastleBranch package, so if you haven't already done so, I would do it now.

Yes! Thank you! I wasn't sure, but I purchased it anyways. Luckily it's only been 1 day. I applied to UTMB, and I had to do a background check through IdentGo regardless of whether applicants were accepted or not. I assumed it was the same case with San Jacinto.

Will we be receiving the blue card through the mail? Or will the results be uploaded automatically to the CB account?

Oop. I guess I misunderstood what they said in the info session. Thank you so much!

I also had certain questions pertaining to when we should submit our items through castle branch. And when I emailed one of the administrators, Jocelyn Hinojosa a month ago she said. "We do ask that you complete CastleBranch items by acceptance date (4-6 weeks after application deadline). All items should be completed with exception of Blue card, physical, and drug screen.”

So from what I'm reading from her email we don't need to have our background check before the application deadline ends.... we need to have it by the acceptance date which should be our CPR certificate, immunizations, proof of health care coverage. Everything else should be after that's weird we received different information.

I just purchased the Castlebranch account and currently uploading my immunization records. It does say on there that the "due date" is on 05/30/2025 which is past the final application date.

Okay I'm guessing that is the "acceptance date" the administrators are referring to. I was wondering what the exact deadline would be, so thanks for providing that.

Hi. Put in my application for fall 2025.

TEAS score was 80, all A's for prerequisites, GPA almost 4.0, only one point deducted for withdrawing from one class.

However, I am considered out of district, so worried that might count against me ( I read that somewhere, not sure if true). However, the school is definitely within driving range. I live only 10 minutes from the south campus.

So stressed! Anyone else care to share their stats??

Don't stress out too much! It's out of your control at this point. All we can do for now is wait. 🙂

I am out of district as well, but I don't think that would be against us.

Yup, so true- thanks!

Hello ! When is the last day to retest for the TEAS exam for this Fall?  I failed the first time. I submitted my application , I have done all the requirements,  prerequisites for RN And for BSN.  Only thing holding me back is my failing test. My application says under review? Any idea what that means? Thx. Good luck to you all!

I'd imagine the last day you can retake it would be before May 2nd. You can always take it virtually on the ATI website.

However, I'm not sure if you can resubmit the application once it's already being reviewed.

I would reach out to them and ask before it's too late!

The good news is that the application deadline has been extended to May 2nd, 12 PM. I believe your only option now is to retake the exam online by Thursday and have the score sent out to North/Central. Afterwards, here's what you should do after taking a second attempt for the TEAS test (listed on San Jac's site): "If you are submitting your second attempt after you have submitted your application, please email your corresponding Sr. AA." Another thing to keep in mind is that you can only retake the exam 15 days after taking the first one.

All of our applications are currently under review. We won't find out about our acceptance until 4-6 weeks after the deadline.

Will we be receiving the blue card through the mail? Or will the results be uploaded automatically to the CB account?

TBON site says it'll be through mail: "The BON mails the original blue card to the address provided by the school on the New and Accepted Student Roster."
