San Francisco State University - SFSU - Generic Masters Program 2009 !!!

I had previously posted this, but no responses? Maybe I placed it in the wrong category. If you applied for 2009, let me know.

I am patiently awaiting April to come.

I just wanted to start a thread for all those who applied to the 2009 GMSN program at SFSU. I did. Look at my stats, tell me yours, your story, etc.

Im really excited!

GPA- 3.6

Pre-Reqs GPA- 3.8

Actual Nursing Courses GPA (Previously in a RN program)- 3.8

Worked at a hospital during my first & second year in nursing school.

How was the competition for the previous years? Any stats?

I had to drop out of nursing school, but now it is one of my hugest regrets and I am trying to get back to get my Masters!!! I am a single mommy with a two-year old son, hoping that this will provide US with the life we both deserve.

So- Family NP track letters have been sent out today. I hope that is why I have not received a letter!! Only time will tell.

Hey everyone. I've been stalking this thread like crazy since I applied. I got my acceptance letter on Monday for Adult Acute Care. I'll be starting in spring 2010.

Congratulations to everyone who got in so far. And hang in there if you haven't yet heard!

peppered- you can look up the required classes then look at the class schedule for the university to see when they are offered. off the top of my head, it was an 8 am monday class and a 10 hour clinical with several options for days and times, and maybe a 7 am friday class but i'm not sure about that one. i was having the same thoughts about commuting from sf to samuel merritt, but now that i got into sfsu i think i'll end up staying here. from my experience, if you hate the commute, you'll end up hate where your commuting to.

carisa! I am waiting for the FNP program as well! I just read your note and am a little relieved! Do you know if rejection and acceptance letters for the program will be sent out at the same time? I wonder how many people they will put on the waitlist...

Nothing, but I have received absolutely no mail since Wednesday and that is odd. Is my mailman playing with my emotions???

I posted on the wrong thread opps. So I got in!!! I was initially denied admissions the denial letter didn't say I was wait listed or anything. Then I got a call today and was the first on their wait list and admitted. Because of budget cuts Fall 09 public health and CNS will start Spring, which will be great because I need a break before I get crazy about school all over again. So moral of the story is don't give up. I already applied to Drexel university ect. and totally accepted that SFSU wasn't going to happen, then who knew I was 1 on the wait list the whole time- Hang in there- you never know.

Hey everyone,

I know this thread may not be followed anymore considering its 2 years later... but I applied for the generic masters nursing program for fall 2011 and I was just wondering how you all like it after having been there for 2 years now. It looks like you guys didn't receive acceptance/rejection letters until May... so I guess I have a long time to wait! Anyways, I was just wondering if you think the program is as great as I have heard it is. Please respond if you have time! Thanks!
