San Francisco State University (SFSU) Entry Level Master of Science in Nursing (ELM) - Fall 2024

Hi! I wanted to start a thread for SFSU ELMSN applicants for fall of 2024. I'm actually a current student who began the program in fall 2023 and wanted to provide a place to answer any questions applicants might have about the program. Our application cycle didn't have any connection to those further along in the program than us when we applied, which made it difficult to find information. So please reach out with any questions, concerns, or to connect with other applicants!

I spoke to someone who was on the waitlist for the BSN program, they were #32 and got in so there's definitely hope for you.

Is anyone not able to see their application status on their SFSU gateway portal? I emailed the nursing dept and grad studies and they both confirmed my application was received and to just wait for an email when decisions are released.

I can and it still says applicant. I haven't seen any change. I'm getting impatient waiting. I called the nursing department the other day and they mentioned we should hear back the middle of this month. Whenever that is...

gotcha, yeah it's weird bc as soon as I applied it changed my Major, but never added a section for me to check my application status! LOL that's hilarious, I emailed them last week for this issue and they told me we'd "hopefully" hear decisions by last Friday (4/5), and yet here we are still waiting

Wow! That's amazing!! Do you know if they're like merit system or lottery system for the waitlist?

Given that they give you numbers it's safe to assume they just go down the list.

Nope, I called earlier and they said we'll hear back this week so I'm hoping we all hear back by Friday. Honestly same!

I haven't heard back yet. I'm so stress OMG😭😭😭. Are you also applied for BSN or MSN? I commented in the wrong forum LOL

I applied for MSN but my STATS are not that competitive 😭 I'm hoping my military experience carries me
