San Francisco pay rates

Hey all!

I've been a Med/Surg/Tele RN for the past 3 years, and have done 4 travel assignments in the last year. I am currently in Los Angeles and will be going to San Fran in a couple months. I was hoping to get some rates from other travelers for the San Fran area. I was quoted around $1700 take home pay with the living stipend included in that, per week. I love my recruiter and the company...but I have some serious student loan debt to take care of (like many of you I'm sure) and would like to make as much $ as possible for my contracts (obviously). If anyone has made more than that in the area please share...and share your company if you can. Thanks!

You have to pay housing out of that? You will likely do better outside the Bay Area at that pay considering the housing costs. The Central Valley pays similarly with much lower housing costs.

Call a few other agencies about pay just to make sure this is a reasonable offer. Use PanTravelers calculator to compare offers. If you didn't need moola so badly, I'd suggest SF anyway for the experience. At that pay (if housing isn't included), the assignment may be more like the Virgin Islands or Hawaii - the goal being to have the time of your life and try to break even.
