Hello All,

I just currently finished my prereqs for the RN program and I have a question. I am now on the wait list at Southwestern, Grossmont, and City and I would like to know for those of you who went through this how long did it take you to get in? They say 2 years, but i heard that it's actually not that long due to people dropping out, and going to different programs. Anyone that has any info I would really appreciate it.

That rumor is true to a point. It is so hard to tell how long you will wait so expect 2 yrs and hope for less. I waited 1 yr and I just got accepted to Grossmont. It turns out that there are several of us that only waited 1 to 1 1/2 yrs. It goes quick so work on getting your general ed out of the way so you can concentrate on only nursing classes when its time. There seems to be alot of people interested at first then lose hope and give up so the waitlist goes quick. Good luck.

SpunkyGirl,

Thanks for responding. I have actually heard back from City College, but not Grossmont yet. I got a letter from City College with a start date of 2008, with the possibility of starting 2007. There are about 120 people ahead of me on the list. I just fount out that Southwestern requires you to be a CNA first, which I didn't know. I have already finished all my general ed classes, so I am really happy about that. I have a feeling the time is going to go by quick, I am really looking forward to it.. I wish you all the best on your program.
