Hi everyone,

Anyone on here apply to City College Nursing program winter 2013 with a start date of fall 2014?? I applied in November and I heard they are sending out acceptance letters in February. The waiting game is killing me!!

Thanks Tahiti!! I am very excited that I was accepted at SD City! I originally was only going to apply to NU but didn't want to put all my eggs in one basket. I am seriously considering the CC route to save money (a TON of money) and then do an online RN to BSN program. I didn't realize how many there are!! I just can't wait to start any program. I feel truly blessed :snurse:

Congrats on your acceptance dukesmama! City College has a great program and boasts a very high NCLEX pass rate.

dukesmama what was your GPA and TEAS etc. for SDCC? How many apply there and have many seat do they have?

Tahiti:

My Science GPA was a 4.0 (I'm pretty sure they don't use "+ or -").. I got A- in all the classes, otherwise it would be a 3.75 for the science.

I got a 3.0 GPA in the english/math/soc/psy section

My TEAS score was an 80

Total points = I calculated a total of 79 points, but they told me my total points was 76 (not sure why their calculations are different than mine)

They have 40 seats available and about 200 students apply each time. They only have 1 application period a year though.

Hope this helps!! Let me know if you have any other questions, very happy to help

Wooohooo!! Congratulations!!!

Hi Dukesmama -

I, too, was accepted into SD City's program. Maybe we'll run into each other in tomorrow's class. I applied to Southwestern, City, Mira Costa, Palomar and Grossmont. I was accepted into Southwestern and Mira Costa and turned them both down since City is closer. I should hear from Palomar this week or next. Won't hear from Grossmont until next month. Grossmont is closest to me so it's my 1st choice strictly for logistical purposes. But I'm thrilled to be in City's program.

My stats getting in were...

3.7 Science GPA

3.6 overall GPA

TEAS 85%

CNA

3 semesters of Spanish, had to work during pre-reqs, hubby is a vet, kids have disabilities (claimed family hardship)

I calculate that to be roughly 73 points which seem low to me, but it was good enough to get accepted into 3 of the 5 programs I applied to.....still waiting to find out about the other 2.

hi! im scheduled to take the teas test in a month from now and i was wondering if there was anything in particular that really helped you with studying for it. im so nervous! so any advice would be gladly welcomed!

I am looking to apply to the nursing program at San Diego City College. Did you end up going to school there? Do you like it?

Can students from this class post pros and cons to the program thank you
