San Antonio

Published

I'm graduating from nursing school outside of Cleveland, Ohio in May and am looking to move to San Antonio in August if possible with my fiancee who is also graduating from nursing school with me. I will take my state boards in June in Ohio.

What are some hospitals in the San Antonio area, in the city or outside the city that we could apply to and what are the chances of us finding jobs and also what is the pay like?

Thanks for all the help!

Steve

Hey Steve, SA has lots of hospitals to choose from.

There is the Methodist Healthcare system http://www.sahealth.com/ They have quite a few hospitals throughout the city.

Baptist Health System http://www.baptisthealthsystem.com/home.aspx They also have a few different hospitals

University Hospital http://www.universityhealthsystem.com/default.asp which has a level 1 trauma center and is the teaching hospital for the medical school.

Santa Rosa http://www.christussantarosa.org/

I'm sure there are more but those are the ones I can think of right now. You can find basically any specialty you want here in SA. I work at Methodist Children's Hospital, just graduated in December 2007. I honeslty only wanted to work one place which I now work so I didn't compare other hospitals, other areas of nursing or anything else so I have nothing to compare the pay with but I started off around $21/hr. I know that I have heard that is a fairly low start value compared to other cities but SA has a fairly low cost of living compared to other places as well. Best of luck in your search!!
