San Antonio College LVN TO RN Program

Hi, I wanted some input on SAC's nursing program. If anyone is currently in the LVN to RN program please let me know how it's going for you. I have heard rumors about it being very disorganized and some not so great things about some clinical instructors. If you can tell me more about how the program actually is, I would appreciate it. I know you posted this awhile ago, but I'm currently in the program and I will be graduating (cross my fingers) in December. Honestly it is a little disorganized, but for me this program is the best option. I was tired of paying so much money for school. For me, I just had to study a little harder and self teach a little bit. They don't hold your hand here. As far as the clinical instructors, in my experience if you do your paper work and stay busy during clinical you will be just fine.

Can you tell me more about the program? I heard it was really hard, and a lot of people don't make it. What grades did you have for the preqs and core curriculum if you don't mind me asking, did you have a high GPA? Is it hard to get in?

I graduated in August from Baptist from the LVN program, I decided to apply to the LVN to rn program at SAC and got in. I applied to the RN program before going to to the LVN program and was not accepted. I have low Chem and Micro gradeas and I think that was the reason i did not get accepted. I did exceptionally well in my LVN program graduating with a 3.4 i guessed that helped. So apply see what happens, the worse that they can say is no.
