So I currently live on the island of Oahu and I am planning to attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa and go into nursing and then make my way to Samuel Merritt University in CA for the CRNA program. If I get my RN license in Hawaii, it is going to be a hassle to get licensed in CA? I know I will need 1 year of experience as an RN before entering the program, which is why I ask about the licensing. Should I transfer after taking all of my *pre-nursing courses at UH Manoa? I just want to consider all of my options and see what's the best way to go about doing all of this. Thank you!
Get your BSN. Work at least one year in a busy ICU. Apply. SMU interviews in March and classes start in August so that gives you plenty of time to get your CA nursing license, if you're accepted.
