im in the process of sending my final transcripts since I just finished this semester. I'm feeling pretty nervous about getting in. Does anyone else here not have any healthcare experience? I'm worried that's going to affect me. I have a 3.7gpa.
Hey Stella,
Where are you sending your transcripts from this semester? Are you emailing them directly to SMU admissions or adding them to NursingCAS? I thought I had an email that explained how to send completed in-process transcripts, but I can't seem to find it. My GPA is similar to yours 3.8 for my last 60 credits, and 4.0 for science prerequisites. I have 3 years of experience as a medical assistant and a few years of ski patrol volunteering, but I'm in the same boat as you... anxious about getting in. Good luck!

Hi,
Last 60 credits, do you mean the bachelors GPA? Aren't these the prerequisites?

It's my understanding that SMU considers your GPA from your last 60 credit hours (or 90 quarter units), prerequisite GPA, as well as your GPA from the 4 science prerequisites. I'm sure having a strong overall cumulative GPA will help. But as far as the SMU website, and what previous students have told me, the last 60 credit hours you've taken is what they focus on for GPA.
