Published

Hello!

I didn't see a thread for the SMU absn Spring 2021 cohort so I just wanted to start one!

I'm currently in the process of applying right now and working on my personal statements!

Hope you are all staying safe during this crazy time!

@angelaaa01 thank you for sharing that info! And congratulations on your admission.  my mind is going a little crazy over here ?? so knowing you received it gives me a little reassurance.

A counselor just advised that

Hello Kate –

It was a general blast SMU sent out as they getting several questions on how to find the SU 2021 application. San Mateo ABSN decisions are still be finalized.

Did anyone get an email from Samuel Merritt for the application cycle next year? It said 2020-2021 NursingCAS application cycle guidance.

I received it at 934am.

I did...I got excited .-. And then I realized

I don’t think we will be notified until next week but I don’t know... Staying hopeful. Grateful to have this forum with y’all.

To those who got accepted on Sacramento, how long do you have to accept the offer?

Also, do they provide and idea of what the schedule / classes will be like with the pandemic? Just trying to plan for childcare!

My friend is starting in Nov. She says the program will be 2-3 days clinical in-person and rest online. First four weeks may be different

Gah! He said within two weeks...that would be three :(. Staying hopeful too

Thanks so much! Any idea when we will be in hospitals? If a vaccine comes out I wonder if we will be considered frontline workers as students and get dibs on it

We have until November 6th to submit a letter of intent and the $350 deposit. I am going to inquire about what the schedule will look like today, since I have to plan for housing and potential moving. I will post here when I get a response!

UPDATE: Just spoke to an admissions counselor and she said that as of right now, Spring 2021 will be hybrid: online didactic with in-person sims and clinicals a few days a week. We will find out more about the schedule in detail once orientation begins.

A counselor indicated today that “It will highly be unlikely this week as we are still waiting for admission decisions from the committee.”

Oh wow! Thanks for the update

OMG, what lies....why say 5-7 days and two weeks if not kept.

by the way they first told me September, then oct...then mid October. Since I applied in May....so I’ve been checking my email then. I

very annoyed now LOL.

For all those reapplying...am I reading it correctly that the only option for Summer ABSN is Oakland or SM? Sacramento is not offering a Summer or Fall cohort?? I was checking out NursingCas and didn’t see Sac as an option.

I just got an email stating I’m now 7 of 35. I was 10 of 40. I’m so confused. If 5 people are off the wait list, wouldn’t that make me 5? This is super strange.
