I didn't see a thread for the Samuel Merritt University ABSN Spring 2014, and decided to get one going. Not much to talk about now, applications are in, just wanted to if anyone heard back yet from the school or when we can expect to hear from them. Good Luck everyone!

I think she called them because they were too choices :( she said she was only calling early admits when I emails her on Friday :( I def want to cry

Ahh that makes sense. I only applied to sacramento campus. Guess I have to wait till tuesday

My stats (I think) were:

Last 60 units - around 3.8

Science- around 3.8

Pre-req - 4.0

TEAS - 92 (the English and language usage was the lowest; I wish I had reviewed a bit)

Volunteer- Sutter, Kaiser, and for Hospice

Shadowed a cardiologist, dermatologist, NP, and PA

Had informal meetings with several nurses

I had a letter of recommendation from a doctor (family friend who I shadowed) and an awesome recommendation from my chemistry teacher

I also took a number of additional courses that will compliment the information we will need to know as nurses

I hope this helps! I have definitely scavenged through previous boards and it's difficult to find the stats of admitted students. Good luck!!!

I'm excited to get to know everyone. I'm in San Joaquin County. I'll be staying with family in Sacramento while I complete the program. Worse case scenario I'll find a library open 24/7, sleep in the stacks, and shower at a truck stop, lol! Whatever it takes to get through! ;)

My teas score was so low :/ I really hope they do take into consideration that i had several volunteer experiences and my last 60 was a 3.4/3.5. I hope i have a chance still. i feel that they will make more calls tomorrow to let us know if we are admitted.

I've looked into the FB thing and I'm not sure what the issue is. Some people said a group needs 25 "likes" to be searchable, but who knows. The terms of service here limit the information I can give out and I don't post enough to receive a pm. If anyone out there knows how to do FB groups, please feel free to create a new searchable page! If not, I guess we wait until orientation when we can get real names and friend each other. If I get any new information I'll let you all know.
