Samuel Merritt SMU ELMSN FNP Spring 2020

Published

Hello fellow applicants. It's been 3 weeks since the submission deadline and I'm getting nervous?. I don't think this cycles' group has been made so I assume no one has been invited to an interview yet. Best of luck to us all?

What are your stats if you'd like to share?

Did you receive an interview or any other followup communication?

How did they contact you (phone or email)?

Hi guys,

I applied for the ELMSN FNP Spring 2020 cycle as well. I did get the email about preliminary review of applications but no interview invite as of yet

Hi everyone, no interview update yet. I got my preliminary review last week on the 26th! I called the office and asked why it got a little more delayed than usual, and they told me that some of the admissions coordinators were on vacation for a while, so that might be why. Hopefully we will all hear back soon with interviews! In the past, I've received phone call invitations or email.

Have you applied to SMU before?

Katharine Leyva, the Sacramento campus admissions counselor for the ELMSN, is on maternity leave until mid September according to her voicemail. Anne Seed is the Oakland equivalent and has been covering as a point of contact. Maybe they want to wait for Katharine to return and possibly to catch up with emails and voicemails before proceeding with interviews.

Hello everyone!

I applied this cycle for the Sacramento ELMSN campus. Still awaiting updates for interviews, I haven't heard back since submitting my application.

As for other master entry level programs, I have also applied to UCD and am currently applying to UCLA.

Finger crossed for all of us ?

For those of us that have applied to multiple schools, do you have a preference as to which school would be your 1st choice if you were offered admission to more than 1 program?

Samuel Merritt is my 1st choice over UCD because of its reputation. Also, I like that it is a front loaded program. Also, having the option to take the NCLEX after the 1st several semesters is cool too! UCD is a much shorter program which is cool, but the school of nursing is superrrrr new... I’d much rather attend a more established program. But at this point (I’m in my early-mid 30’s), I’d happily accept admission to wherever I get offered haha ?

Hi,

I have just applied to SMU . So it is my first and last choice as well ??.First reason I really want to attend SMU is because of its well reputation and and NCLEX passing rate. Second, program’s time frame and location both are perfect for me. I have struggled so much in my life to get my education. This would be big success for me if I get into the program. I am a non traditional student and really want to set an example for my kids. I am just crossing my fingers everyday... Let’s pray for the positive results for all us..

Also, I have known many people who were graduated from SMU and got jobs within the area in a very short time period.

Another question:

Did any of you go to the Nursing Success Seminar earlier this year?

Thus far, I've applied to SMU Spring 2020, UC Davis School of Nursing, (I'm a Davis alumna) and Roseman University.

I've only gotten an email from SMU and Davis stating that they were done with preliminaries and received my application, respectively. As for Roseman, I've already have gotten an interview invite for this month.

Yes, this will be my second cycle with them at SMU Sac.

I wish I would be able to attend the seminar. But I wasn’t. I heard that those are really helpful and informative.
