Hey guys the alternative loans are through private lenders I herd that discover had the best loans personally I ended up using one through sallie Mae and wellsfargo my interest rates ranged between 11-12% but I think that’s based off your credit score sallie Mae was easiest to get and I think it was for like 67,000 and got approved in like two days without having to give them anything. But you know what guys just don’t pay any attention to the loans just appily and leave that for when we’re done with the program !!!! Now is not the time to be overwhelmed stressed this is the least of our worries we’re going to get through this and it’s all going to be worth it !!

hey girl, so you got approved for a loan from sallie mae?

I think they set dispersment July 24 or 26 I forgot

so do they give u the entire loan straight away or is it semester by semester?

The first two and they give it too the school directly

Okay I will look into both Discover and Sallie Mae. Thank you guys for your responses and suggestions.

Alexandra,

So your 67,000 loan that’s for both years tuition coverage correct. I was thinking of asking for a loan for both years at once while I’m still employed. I have to resign from my state service next month. I think that’s the scariest part for me is knowing I don’t have any new income to supplement my loan payments or side costs like transportation expenses etc.

I'm on the same boat. I don't think I want to work during the program because I really want to focus on studying and succeeding lol. Just don't feel like you're gonna be the only one going through this because I will be too. I searched a lot on sallie mae's scholarship and heard a lot of negative things, that's why I've decided to go with Discover.

No the 67,000 is just got the 2019-2020 semester which is the first year. You can only appily the time of need so they won’t approve you for the last two semesters until we finish the first two. Say the tuition is about 50,000 they send you what ever the school doesn’t use to your bank account after for personal use for school like for books etc.

Alexandra,

Okay, I see. Thanks for the detail.

Is anyone on the waitlist still following this thread? Has anyone else been offered admission? Submitted my application for Spring last night but still hopeful for the Fall!
