Samuel Merritt ELMSN CM Spring 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone!

I couldn't find a thread for Samuel Merritt ELMSN CM Spring 2017 applicants so I decided to make one!

I just wanted to see if anyone has heard back from the school yet? I got an email saying that they received my application and that my GPA and courses have been verified but thats it.

Anyone hear anything about interviews or rejections?

I saw on their website that interviews begin in mid september, so I'm wondering when they will notify us if we get an interview!

Sorry for the late reply but i've been really caught up with other things. Also looks like the system hasn't been sending me emails :/ .

I was referring to the USF ELMSN CNL program that doesn't do a preceptorship any longer.

I was got my acceptance letter yesterday, official stuff coming in the mail.

I am quite interested in all available resources, especially the mentorship program you mentioned.

Still waiting to hear back from USF before I make my final decision, but i've been in the process of making plans for my move to Sac.

Looks like from the most recent posts, some other have been accepted.

Hope to get to meet you all!

Hello all,

I am applying to the ELMSN - CM program for the Spring 2017. I'm ready to submit my application just in time for the November 1 deadline. For those of you who have been accepted, if you don't mind me asking, what are your stats? I do not have any healthcare experience and this is a career change from working in the Retail industry. Any feedback would be great :)

jrlcmurse: My TEAS is 90.7. My undergrad GPA is around 3.6 (combined from 3 different colleges), but I have high prerequisites GPA (mostly 4.0). They will look at your last 60 units GPA as well as your prerequisites GPA, but what I love is that they look at you holistically not just your grade. I have lots of experiences both in health care and retail services. They said that health care experience is a plus, not a requirement. If you can between now and then get some experience to show them you know what to expect in nursing, it would be great, but if I were you, I wouldn't break my back trying to do it. Just make sure you know what you're getting yourself into. If you can use your retail experiences to apply in healthcare, they would love to know about that. Hope it helps.

Thank you for the information!

I submitted my application a couple days ago -crossing my fingers. I did ask the enrollment counselor how many seats are available for the CM cohort and she said there are 24 seats for the Spring 2017 cohort.

Hello, future cohort members! I came over here from the Facebook page. Thank you for all the information everyone has shared here! I attended the CM Alumni Symposium and Career Fair yesterday, which was very informative, and met two of our cohort members in person! Did anyone else also attend? I'm sure it will be an excellent resource in a couple years when we all begin job hunting.

Hello! I just got invited to an interview for the ELMSN - CM program! I was a late applicant for the November 1 deadline. Could anyone from the first round of interviews let me know what to expect?

My interview was short, sweet, and to the point. She asked why I chose SMU and why case management. Then she asked if I had any questions. Other than that, we talked for a few minutes and then I completed the small writing portion. Definitely much less stressful or in depth than I was expecting.

One of my family members later pointed out they already have your application, grades, letters of recommendation, essays you've written. Other than making sure you can dress/act professionally and show up on time, they pretty much already have a good picture of who you are. Best of luck to you!!
