I'm currently number 1 on the wait list and Shawna invited me to the Orientation just in case someone doesn't show up. I was wondering is if we needed to bring anything on Tuesday?

Beside what's on the list below, you have to bring the CPR certification. I'm sure they will let us turn in other documents if we forget to bring it.

You will need to complete the following for orientation day:

  1. Sign the page acknowledging receipt (last page of handbook) of School of Nursing student handbook and turn in on 1/9/2018: Prelicensure handbook.2017-18.pdfpreview.pngpopout.png
  2. Complete form for academic integrity: Bad Request

  4. Advising questionnaire: The final 30 minutes of orientation on 1/9/2018 is dedicated to completing the questionnaire. If you choose to, you can complete the advising questionnaire and bring a hard copy to orientation (this will enable you to leave earlier on 1/9/2018) bsn.advising.questionnaire.doc

hi, i am right behind you at #2, but Shawna didn't call me. Would you be able to post here if you get in? Dying to find out! I wonder if i should make myself available for tuesday just incase?

Anybody know what the dress code is for tomorrow? Also has anyone seen any rules about facial hair? I cannot seem to find the policy on this.

I am fairly certain I have seen other students with facial hair. I'm guessing if it isn't addressed in the handbook at all, it's not an issue. As far as the dress code for tomorrow, I don't think there is a specific dress code, but I will be going with business casual.

Hi, Shawna called me today to invite me to attend orientation as well. My friend who attended Fall 2017 orientation said she wore jeans with converse sneakers! Shawna said it is business casual. Fingers crossed two people don't show up tomorrow so me and Sgpangilinan94 can start with you all tomorrow!! She also told me that should the two people in question end up showing up, I am guaranteed admission into the Fall 2018 class. so theres no worry either way which is great. see y'all tomorrow!

That's what she told me a few weeks ago too. It just sucks that we have to do everything last minute since we still don't know whether we get in or not. But at least what ever happens tomorrow, we know we have a spot already in the Fall.

Those of you who have applied to SMU and been accepted,

What were your HESI scores and GPA?

I applied to SMU BSN Fall 2018 and I am nervous because I only applied to 3 schools......

hi jaquino!l GPA was 3.0, (edit: i calculated the prereqs and did it incorrectly, it may be higher?) and a 93 total % on the HESI, and a timeframe of 17 years of taking prerequisites! (only realized i wanted to be a nurse 11 years ago! Good luck, you should find out around mid-end march i think!

I forgot to add -- volunteer background, certifications, healthcare work and/or strong recommendations?

What do you think increased your chances of getting into SMU?
