I'm curious....was anyone who got accepted on the waitlist for any previous cohorts/app cycles? I know last cohort SMU moved waitlisted applicants up into the May start cohort, I believe.

Wondering if this will continue into the next cohorts as well?

hi! I originally applied for the January start cohort in san mateo and was waitlisted #20. I got an email in February stating I was accepted into the June start cohort at san mateo. there is definitely hope for being accepted from the waitlist into future cohorts, I'm just not sure what the system is behind that. best of luck to you! ?

Congrats! Did you have to reapply?

I’m thinking the Summer cohort is smaller? Could be wrong but I remember reading that somewhere. Plus the waitlist was limited to 10 people versus 50. Anyone have any info on in they do update when waitlist moves?

thank you! no, I didn't. I had actually just started updating my nursingcas app for a future app cycle when smu admissions contacted me and offered me a spot in the June cohort straight off the waitlist. I had 4 classes in progress when I first applied so I had to email them my grades for those, then I got the official acceptance email.

Hi, not sure of SMU's actual process of informing those on waitlist (such as if they let them know after moving up every spot), but I looked back at the allnurses forums from most recent cohorts and it looks like WL applicants were starting to be notified of acceptance ~2 weeks after initial acceptance/WL letters/emails were sent out and they can notify WL applicants up to 1 week prior to start date.

I am not sure on the waitlist informing process. I know that the Letter of Intent and tuition deposit for who those got acceptance is due by 4/28/21. There might be people drop out some spots after that date. Keep checking your students portal and email.

Thanks for info on when letter of intent is due for those who received their acceptance already! Have they provided you with info on if classes are in-person or online yet? Or what day orientation is for you?
