Hi Everyone! I know this is a bit early but I will be applying to SMU for the ABSN program of Summer 2014 (Oakland Campus). I am currently finishing my Bachelor's degree in health science at CSUEB right now and I will be done in the fall. I just wanted to start a discussion on this topic and get to know some people who are applying to the program for summer 2014. Let's get to know each other, share our stats, etc.
Here are my estimated stats that they look at:
Last 60 units GPA: 3.5
Pre req GPA: 3.4
Teas: 83 but I am re taking it in a couple of weeks
Experience: I am a CNA and Med tech currently. I volunteer at John Muir hospital and at American Red Cross.
I hope to hear from some prospective applicants soon!
@fhussein999 Thanks for the info. I saw on their website that it said orientation for Oakland cohort would be May 7th to May 9th but I guess that's wrong.
Also, for those of you who paid their deposit did you receive a confirmation email? I haven't received anything.
I talked to the Business office, no confirmation email. If you have a credit on your statement then that's your "confirmation." They said that our $350 deposit will post as a credit until we actually register and incur some charges. We should receive an email from the Registrar's office in April about registration dates. Once we have completed our registration then the total term charges will appear and the statement will reflect our posted balance.
I also spoke with Financial Aid and they said that we should submit our FAFSA ASAP to assist with getting our award packets. All balances must be paid in full prior to start of class.
Still no information on the Orientation dates for Oakland - we are the only ones without dates as yet. This is tough for me bc I am traveling and need to change my ticket but don't know when to change it to... Sigh.
Anyway, hope to see you all in the FB group so we can discuss more and share info :)
When you logged into SMURF to pay your deposit, did you wait until there was a balance? Or did you just pay the $350 against no balance? I am not seeing a balance of $350 and wondering if I should wait.
