I'm actually trying to get in that term if they have any openings. I was planning on applying for April/may/june but Sac will be more affordable and I used to live in Sac last year and really like it there. I called admissions and they told me to get back to them after I have a NET score. She also said they increased the class size for Sac. But, I was wondering the same thing about the schedule. Did you hear anything back after applying?
I haven't heard anything back yet. I just remember Liza Osoteo told me that the first term is about 5 weeks, then 10, 15, 16, and 4 weeks. But with different holidays and stuff, I want to know dates. I like it up in Sac, too. I was in Napa last year and my boyfriend, now ex, was in Sac, so I was there on the weekends and its a great city.
Do you know any other details about the program? Anything more would be appreciated. It's nice to know they increased the class size :-)

I know it will be one really challenging year. :)I wish I knew more, but I don't know anything else...I'm just waiting impatiently for my NET scores and then I can call SM. I hope the wait doesn't drag on too long!
I got my net scores back and Anne said i could be waitlisted at best for this january sac class. I'm going to start on my app today...send it off by the end of the week at least. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Would you mind giving an estimate of what your NET scores were? And your pre-reqs GPA, previous major GPA? I am so nervous. I sent my stuff in 3 weeks ago, but just took the NET on the 11th, so I know they have them by now. Have you applied to other schools? I'm really scared and pretty much have all my hopes riding on Samuel Merritt. I'm hoping to get into the Sac class, but put San Mateo as my 2nd choice. Did she say they've already filled the Sac class and are now just wait-listing, or is it because of your score that you'd be wait-listed at best?
Sorry I have so many questions. I'm just really nervous.
I think I would be waitlisted because i applied so late.(if I'm still going to apply) my pre-reqs is about 3.45
my overall is 3.4 and my net math 90 reading 61. composite 76. my reading was bad.
I hope everything works out for you. Now I'm reconsidering my whole decision to sm. I live in vegas...used to live in sac last year(loved it) and wanted to go back ever since. Schools here are so much cheaper and I could be close to family and friends. I don't want to settle in vegas so i always wanted to move. I should decide if I want to move before or after school. It will take me a few more months here in vegas...but the 60/70 thousand that I save would be a lot less pressure after I finish and a lot less pressure going through school cuz I'll have support. Sorry it's so long, anyone have any suggestions?
Yeah, I'll have to relocate, too if I get accepted to SM. My concern is more about finding a place to live out there. i think they're the only campus that doesn't have student housing, right? I live in SoCal so there are quite a few accelerated programs here, too, but they take longer than SM. Shortest is 1.5 years, I think and that's not including the quarter/semester before starting the program in which you are required to take some classes on their campus.
I know the amount of debt we'd be in after SM is really scary, but I guess on my part, since I'd only have myself to take care of I should get if paid off in a few years. No way am I going to just make minimum payments.
I am just constantly thinking about this program now. I want to know if I'm accepted (or not). I emailed Liza yesterday and hope that she'll get back to me today. I guess I could call, but I like to have the responses so that I can look back and read them over.
I'm rethinking again...I think the Sac class is too soon for me. I will barely finish pre-reqs this december(pharm& patho&comm) and I won't know until last minute if I'm accepted(cuz of the waitlist), and moving on short notice is not fun. Also I'll have no time to relax before starting the program. I already feel kinda burned cuz I did all my pre-reqs so fast. I'm gonna apply for april/may/june definetly. I think the cost of living in bay area is more but there's more to see and do there. I also don't have anyone to support...so whatever I make can be used to pay off the debt. I lived in Sac but never the bay area, so it might be a new experience. :)
The problem in Vegas is the same thing, the programs are too long. The one ABSN they have here is not fully accredited. I want to move to So. Cal too after I'm done so it might be better to go to SM after all.
I hope you find out soon! I know the wait must be very hard...maybe that's why I put it off. LOL. Good luck!
they should've gotten to you by now. I don't know if it's different if you took it at the SMC campus, but I got mine proctored down in Socal. I called the testing company and they said that in 1 week the school should get your results and in 2 weeks (1 week after the school) you should receive yours in the mail.
You said it was two weeks ago, so it should be there. Maybe you'll want to call them...

Hi, I have applied to Samuel Merritt and was wondering if anyone who already knows the process could explain it all to me. The admissions process, any interview required, notices of acceptance/rejection.
Also, I was told that the program is divided into 5 terms, but the Academic Calendar on the site only gives dates for Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. How are the terms divided up. I was told the first and last are short while the middle ones are much longer, but I would like to know approximate dates.
Thank you
