Samford University

U.S.A. Alabama

Looking to transfer to Samford university next year. Anyone here in their BSN program?

That's great! Congrats! Having options are always great!! I don't know anyone specifically that attended Samford unfortunately but when I've mentioned the name to others they always have good things to say about it. I really only know what I've read. I also applied to GW in DC so I'm still waiting to hear back from them which I would love to attend. What are you leaning more towards?

Thank you! I really can't decide which school. I'm leaning towards because it's so short, but im also excited about vsu. I'm glad you only hear good things about samford. I really don't know much about the school, but the staff seems very kind. Do you live in birmingham? What's it like!?

Oh yeah I looked at too! What do you know about their program? What's making you lean more towards them? I actually don't live in Alabama, I live in FL but you coming from LA is definitely going to be different for you coming to the south lol. But I read Samford is located more in the suburbs of Birmingham so that should be nice and not so much in the country. But for me location is whatever, I just want to get into a good school and program especially since they are accelerated programs.

Drexel is great, but I know it's super intense. My decision is based on price and nclex pass rates. I really don't know if I can handle an absn in 11 months. It might just make my head spin.

I've never been to the south so I'm definitely worried, but you're right-it's all about getting into a good school and keeping my grades up! Keep me updated. I'll definitely pass on any information I find!

LOL yeah that definitely is going to be really intense! Cost and passing rate is definitely important. As for the being in the south, it'll def be different for you i'm sure but I think it will also be a good experience just because you will be exposed to different things. But yes, please keep me posted and I will do the same! I also found out today that I got into Bellarmine University in Kentucky!! Which is a great start for me because i'm still waiting to hear back from the other schools I applied to in dc, nj, ct, atl and fl. I'll keep you posted! Good luck with everything!!

Yay! Congratulations!!

I just found this and it looks like it would be helpful for the interview process. Good luck! https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/interview-questions-88629.html

Thank you!! And thanks for posting the link, I'm going to def check it out! :-)

Hi Gual~ How'd the interview go today?

That good, eh? :)

Hey there!! Sorry for the late response, just now getting your post. But the interview went really well. I actually had it bumped up to this Monday and met with 2 faculty members who were super nice and very welcoming. The interview lasted a little over an hour and the next day got an acceptance email!!!! :-) I was couldn't believe how quick they emailed me. You have nothing to worry about. They ask the typical questions why nursing, what makes you a good candidate to be a nurse, asked about my finances (as far as how I intend to pay for school, nothing too detailed though), why the change in careers etc. What time is your interview?

Nicely done!! Yay on the acceptance!! Maybe, we'll be classmates! Mine is in the morning. I just hope it all goes over smoothly! Hopefully, I have good news to report back to you soon :)
