I just applied to the school. I got into Samford University but tomorrow the committee will review my nursing application and will give me a decision next week. I'm really nervous.
You need a 3.0 GPA and atleast 25 credits posted in your transcript to be considered. It is a bit competitive. I'm sure if you have decent grades you will get in.
Science courses are important. The only prerequisite for their BSN nursing program are Chemistry Intro, Anatomy, Physiology and Psychology. Microbiology can be take while in the nursing program.
They are very nice people. You will love Samford. Just be prepared for a more conservative view of life. It is a christian university after all.
Good Luck!
Any questions just message me here. =D
Cheers

I know, it's definitely unconventional, but I can't afford to fly to alabama. I live in Los Angeles so it's my best option. I'm hoping the interview will be pretty basic-why nursing?, someone who inspires you?, how to deal with stressful situations?....when is your interview at? Mine is April 8th!!
I have finished all my science prereqs but taking developmental psych and a nutrition course right now to finish up. A lot of schools require so many different classes it just doesn't make any sense. I wish they were all on one accord Lol. I just can't wait to get my acceptance into a program and get started. I'm so excited! Did you apply to any other schools?
I know! They all want something a little different. I applied to a few schools and so far, I've been accepted by all of them except OU. I'm having a hard time really deciding if Samford is for me? Do you know anything about the program? Just from doing research on this site I've found some mixed reviews. The nursing program does a lot of weeding out, but they produce very well prepared, professional nurses
