State Sales Tax Holdiay

This is the first time IL will be having a Sales Tax Holiday, and I believe some other states do this already. The 5% sales tax break is good on many school supplies as well as shoes and uniforms (Nurses and Nursing Students!!). Please move this post if there is a more appropriate spot for it. Wanted to share the info!

Alabama has been doing the Tax Free weekend for a few years now. I LOVE that we have this benefit. I don't really take advantage of it for my child's school supplies because I cannot 'do' the crowds at Target or wherever and I like to get stuff early to get selection. But I do take advantage of the day to get a new set of scrubs for work and some school supplies for me at the off campus bookstore or Office Depot or whatever.

I hope everyone gets some good deals!

NC also has a tax free holiday. I don't like fighting the crowds for supplies, either, and I find that if you wait until the holiday, pickings are slim anyway.

But, I bought my uniforms and other things this weekend and I figure I saved about $20.
