Anyone has applied to the accelerated nursing program may 2019 at Salem State?
Has anyone gotten word about what our academic calendar will look like; semester durations, etc.? I am taking micro and survey of life rn as part of my 1st undergrad (paid w/ fin aid) so when I finish that, I will go right into the program this May. Because of this, I needed to add Salem State to my schools receiving fin aid because summer 2019 is considered apart of 2018 fin aid package FYI. Hope this helps

Hey Jonisol! I graduated from the nursing program from SSU in May. Just like every school, there are bad professors and there are good professors. If you have any question in general about what person to take in regards to a class you can PM me! In regards to clinical, I NEVER had a bad experience for clinical. All of my clinical instructors were great and I learned a lot from them. However, not every clinical instructor was great like the ones I chose. For example, during the last semester of nursing school there was a group of students who had a clinical instructor that was horrible. It was our last clinical of nursing school and usually they will let you buddy up with a nurse or have your "own" patients etc.. The group that had the horrible clinical instructor got stuck doing ONLY CNA work. They did not get to do med passes, they did not get to shadow a nurse etc.. I felt bad for them because this was their last clinical and unfortunately they had a horrible experience. For MY last clinical I was able to buddy up with a nurse and follow that nurse throughout her day/work with her and her patients. I was also lucky enough to be able to go to different specialties. For example, I was able to go to the ER, ICU, Cath lab, follow an IV nurse around etc... It was a great experience for my last clinical. I also had great experiences for my fundamentals, medsurg, pedi rotation ETC... If you have any questions at all about who to choose for a clinical instructor or have any questions about the program you can PM me or just reply here ? ! Best of luck!
