How do you come up with a figure that is reasonable? I interviewed recently and was told I would be getting an official offer this coming week. I want to be prepared to negotiate if the need arises.
Do you generally look up the salary range for the experience level in the specialty and shoot for the middle?
The benefits, location, and schedule are phenomenal. I just don't want to get too excited and accept a low ball offer.
I haven't changed careers in 5 years and was entry level at that time, so I've never been in a position to negotiate before.
Thank you

What area ?
Case management, I'll be taking a huge pay cut most likely.
Sounds like it is within the same facility. Salary would be up to HR.
You can never go wrong negotiating for 10 % above the offer. All they can do is say no.
Doubt it would be that much of a pay cut.
And CONGRATS! No more bedside.. baby.
I will be doing the happy dance for sure!
It's not with the same company, totally new and a welcome change
10% sounds very reasonable, I only plan on negotiating if they present a low offer.
I am coming from a job with a ton of overtime, the numbers that I've seen for salary range are around 10-20K below what I am making now.
I am just miserable and a happy me is more important than a rich me at this point:yes:
