Saint Peter's University ABSN 2022

Published

Hi, I didn't see a forum for the ABSN program and thought that I would start one. Has anyone applied to the program? I have to take the TEAS exam, and then wait for a decision. I'm so nervous!

Thank you!! I just made a request.

Hi guys! I am coming on here to say I just got my acceptance email! I can’t believe it. I applied on 1/28 and heard back so quick! My TEAS score wasn’t the greatest (79.3) but I got a 92 in math, 97.3 in science, 80 in English, and 59 in reading LOL. But I do have a master’s degree in science with a 4.0 and my bachelor’s in science with a 3.5.
I don’t know much about this program (tuition, fees, FAFSA, etc.) I am happy to see so many got in as well! If anyone can give me a run down on this program, I would greatly appreciate it! TIA!

Hi everyone, I was accepted and can’t wait to meet you all!

Hi everyone! I’m in the 2021 cohort. I’m currently on Spring break so if anyone has any questions feel free to DM me. When I was in your position this time last year we had literally no information and I found it very stressful, so if I can help in anyway I will. ?

Hi there! Thanks for reaching out!

I have no idea how to DM on here. But there are a few of us who have joined a group message. I’m sure everyone would LOVE to chat with you, any way you can DM me? Thanks!

Thanks for commenting! Hope you are enjoying some time off. I would love to ask you some Q’s if you don’t mind. How is the program going for you so far? Was the beginning of the program very difficult? Would you say the workload is a lot? Someone told me on FB how insanely difficult Saint Peters is so it’s making me weary LOL! Any reassurance would be greatly appreciated ? TIA!

If you asked me how the program was last semester I’d say tough, but doable. This semester is a bit of a *** show and very VERY overwhelming. It honestly depends on the Professor you have. Our Pathophysiology Professor is an awful Professor and not compassionate in the slightest so an already difficult class is made even more stressful.

The workload is definitely a lot, especially in the fall. You have 5 classes, a ton of ATI modules due each week, and exams (sometimes multiple) weekly. If you stay motivated and vigilant you will be fine. Those NCLEX style questions are difficult to get used to. An ABSN program will be difficult wherever you go. It’s a lot of work in a short period of time. Those in charge of the program don’t really seem to care much about our opinion and will often not do a single thing when professors are actively working against us (such as our Patho professor).

Wow thanks for the feedback! I hope this semester goes much smoother for you & your classmates. I hate that students are already in such a difficult program & you get stuck with an awful professor to make the experience even worse. I appreciate the heads up! Would you say your cohort is a close knitted group? I like to believe having that support from your classmates is important since everyone is in it all together. Also, I am not sure how you commute, but any chance do you know if parking is a challenge? I live in Bergen County, so it’s about a 30 min. drive from my place to SP., so I’m just preparing myself for this big decision. Thank you again!

It’s definitely easy to go through it all so long as you have friends/ a cohort that has your back, which I feel like we do. Complaining together and making sure you’re not the only one that feels a certain way when an exam was really difficult or if a professor is being terrible.

You can buy a parking pass for $250 for two semesters. That’s what I did and I usually don’t have an issue with parking. I just get there about an hour or so before class to make sure I have time to wait for a spot if none are open. There’s also meter parking on the street but it’s only for a certain amount of hours so sometimes you have to leave class to put coins in the meter again.
