Hey! Has anyone applied to St. Luke's in Kansas City for the Fall of 2012? If so, do you know when we should be recieveing our acceptance letters?

Good luck! :)

There are soooo many documents to scan! I've been working like crazy on that stuff. Also, just signed up for a Health Provider BLS course on December 7th! Don't you just love the added costs so far? Oh well, we're all in it together :)

I know! And that 62 question test, all of the immunizations we need record of and everything else! Luckily my BLS is good until October 2014, but I did not enjoy paying for that background check. Who knew a $109.00 background check existed!? It'll be worth it in 2 years :)

What 62 question test? I haven't even started on any of that stuff. I have a killer quarter to finish. Do you know when it is all due? I will add you to the facebook group, but, to be honest, they are pretty rude about helping us. I got facebook attitude for asking about our teachers. They don't want newbie questions. It is for upperclassmen and their homework. I hope we have a friendly class. I don't like drama and school is hard enough as it is. Also, do we need BLS certification before school starts? If so, will you let me know about that class you are taking? I will sign up with you. dg

It's a test to do with orientation about things like fire safety, infection control and other boring things like that. I think we need a 90% to pass and I got an 88% the first time. Lameee, took me a long time to take it. There is a 91 page manual that has all the answers, you can have it open while you're taking the test. I think everything is due by the first day of class, which is January 13. So you have time! Well that sucks about the Facebook group. I think we'll be fine as long as we can all get along and hopefully study together! I believe we do need our BLS certification before we start, for clinicals and such.

I will be beginning my last semester in January (@ St. Luke's), If you have any questions about ANYTHING feel free to ask here. I will be happy to answer!

dg, here's the link to the BLS class I signed up for: https://enjoycpr.com/index.php?option=com_registrationpro&view=event&Itemid=3&did=12545

let me know if it doesn't work

Does anyone know how much the foundation scholarships are worth and how much the auxiliary scholarship is worth? Anyone start their essay yet? dg

The foundation scholarship is anywhere between 1000-2000 depending on the funds available and the year. My first semester I got 1000 and its gone up each semester since. I don't know about the auxiliary.

I think I read the auxiliary is $4000? That seems like a lit, but it would be awesome if it was that much! MichaelaR27, where do you get your books? Do you go through the bookstore or is there somewhere that may be a little cheaper?

The first couple of semesters I had to purchase my books through the bookstore because it allowed me to use my loans to pay for them. They were EXPENSIVE compared to other sources. Third semester I purchased them from a friend who is a semester ahead of me. For the final semester I am going through Amazon. When you get your booklist let me know what you need and maybe I can sell you some of mine!

Michaela, where did you get your titers done for school? I don't have health insurance and you need doctors orders...Also how much were they?

Ah I know, books are so darn expensive! I will definitely let you know when I get my booklist, thank you!
