Safest Critical Care Setting in South Florida

Nurses Career Support

Specializes in Trauma ICU.

Hello everyone,

I am an RN with 2 years of ICU experience in a medical/trauma/neuro ICU. I do feel that I love the critical care setting, but I currently work in an HCA hospital, and I am kind of getting to the end of my line here, and I am suffering from depression & anxiety ( seeking help from a psychiatrist currently) that I feel is stemming a lot from the stress in my work environment. I realize all ICUs will have some sort of stress, but I feel that my hospital in particular has little to no support, average pay, and in general no consideration for nurses/I often cannot sleep the day before and the day after work. I would like to stay in the ICU setting because I am planning to apply to nurse anesthesia school and their admission deadline is February 2023 and they start their interview process in March. Although I am really unhappy with where Im at right now, I feel like I should stay in ICU especially for experience that will help me towards anesthesia school and for the interview process ( I don't think its exactly great to say im working remotely etc or something less stressful that doesnt help me with anesthesia school or preparation in the interview)...... SO the question is. What hospital system/hospitals do you all know to have a good reputation  and are SAFE and you have enjoyed working in the Miami and South Florida area? Please any suggestions or advice would help, I really feel like my mental health is suffering.
