Hello everyone! Thought I would start a thread for saddleback since I have not seen anything!
Everyone on here please feel free to ask questions and perhaps share stats!
My statistics are as follows:
15 pts for 1000+ hours as an EMT
30 pts for 4.0 science GPA
9 points for relevant nursing coursework
3 points for life experience (no documentation needed)
2 points for language proficiency
25 points for TEAS score
for a total of 84 points

I'm Kenji and as mentioned earlier, I'm a student at Golden West trying to get into any nursing program that will take me. I applied to Saddleback with:
AA - 2 points
Work/Volunteer - 5
BIO Prereq GPA - 20
Relevant Coursework - 20
Life Experience - 3 (love free points)
TEAS - 25
Total: 75
So I'm most likely not going to make it unless the average is much lower this year and as an alternate. That said, I'm applying to Saddleback, Cypress (26/30), and GWC (82/100), so I'm hoping I get in somewhere.
Good luck to you all,
Kenji
Good luck Kenji!

At the moment of my calculations were correct, you would only have 62 points. For work and volunteer hours, it’s either/or. We aren’t allowed to combine hours. If you’ve also taken psych, math, pharm and speech, that might also boost or increase your score!! PM is you have anymore questions!
30 pts for science GPA
5 pts for volunteer hours or work experience of 200 hours
2 pts for foreign language
25 pts for TEAS score
Hello,
Thanks for starting up a post. I've been watching these threads to try to gauge where the applicants have been at . I am about 10 points behind you rowlab. I also applied to Mira Costa and Palomar as those school are closer to me and the point distribution is a little different . This is my first semester applying and I still have some opportunities that I can take to gain experience before I start an ADN program . So we'll see what happens with this next semester. I thought the window Saddleback had for applicants was interesting and I wonder how that will affect the amount of applicants that apply. Good luck to you, It looks like you meet all the criteria and stand an excellent chance this semester. How exciting!

good luck to you too! I know we've all tried our best to try and be a competent and competitive applicant for these nursing programs~
also, if I am not mistaken or if anyone else knows but I believe that most CC's usually get back to us applicants by December for Spring admissions
When I applied for Saddleback , the message said applicants would be notified in October. Palomar and Mira Costa said applicants would be notified by October or November the latest. All applicants are suppose to be notified wether they are accepted or not. At least they don't leave you hanging. Last semester they gave applicants a few days to accept the spot otherwise they offered the spot to applicants with less points . In this case, applicants are not notified at the same time, does that make sense ? I'm expecting a similar process this semester.
