Sad...

I had an interview at a clinic for an RN position last week wed 4/25. I thought all went well and asked when they would know what their decision was they stated they would today Monday 4/30. No call here...Feeling pretty down....I felt very good about the interview and when I left I could hear them saying they really liked me...What should I do now? Should I call tomorrow morning? UGH!! So depressed!! I really want a job!!! Thanks for reading, I would really appreciate any suggestions.

You should still call in the morning. No telling how many people interviewed so you have to stand out. Show interest in the job. I always liked it when interviewees would call. It shows interest and determination. I've also gotten jobs before by calling.

I would say, 'Hello, my name is Lindsey, I interviewed last week and wanted to call to follow up on my interview. I want to thank you for the opportunity for the interview, I'm very interested in this job and know I'd be a great fit for the position.....have you made any decisions at this time?'

I edited and added to my last post. Good luck. The call will not hurt, if they have you in mind, they'll be very glad you called.

What should I say if they say they have already made a decision and it wasn't me? Should I ask why they didn't decide on me?

I would ask because if you don't, you'll prob always wonder. Think positive :)

Definitely ask why they didn't choose you if that is the outcome. It may be something you hadn't realized was an issue, and can be changed for the next interview.

You can definitely ask because you may learn something or find out if something needs to be fixed. But keep in mind they are not obligated to give you an answer, so if they refuse to tell you why don't press the matter. Just thank them for their consideration.

Oh! Tribal council? Review your transcultural nursing... and remember that their sense of time might be different than yours, and a few days to you might mean something quite different to them! In any case, your continued interest in working there, and letting them know that might make you stand out among others that interviewed.... so I'd call every 4 or so days.

Keep calling. A few days to them could mean anywhere from 2-3 days, to a couple weeks. The native americans I have worked with are not usually in a hurry, ever.

Yes, most definately. I have native american family members and we say you are on tribe time when they are late to my european time. So, more than likely it will be a little later than anticipated. Thanks for reinforcing what I was thinking :hug:
