Hello Everyone,
I am about to send in my application to CSU Sacramento for Fall 13 and was wondering if there are any other people in the same predicament. Would love love to hear your experiences as well.
Hey there... Insurance is required. Join CNSA and it will cost you only 120 per month through the student association. It Needs to be paid in lump sum too but its much cheaper than sac states insurance plan. Copay is $40.00 and prescriptions $25 for formulary(generics). Medi-cal counts too. Good Luck.
According to this Medi-cal website:

I don't meet the qualifications. Oh well.
Hi all fellow 2013 BSN candidates!
I'm so excited to find you all online and can't wait for the coming fall semester!
Scwolf - I can't log in to your Facebook group for some reason! I have tried several different ways.. Also, as a second bachelor (I am too!) we don't go to the regular University orientation.
Just a lil bit about me.. I am a Sac State alumna (2006) and live within five blocks of the campus, so I am happy to answer questions about living arrangements and anything else that comes up! I am a mommy to an almost 2 yr old - which prompted my foray into the field of nursing - and I have an amazing and supportive husband who is taking me to Hawaii in early August as a congrats for getting in to nursing school.
Can't wait to meet you all in person, and hope I can get on the FB page somehow.
I have the health insurance through CNSA as well - it's not fantastic coverage, but it will do in a pinch. It is coverage through United Health, and you sign up for coverage on http://www.uhcsr.com.
Hi eama4444! Thank you and congrats to you as well!! I can't PM because I am too new to allnurses.com?? Scwolf sent me the link, but I think because it's a secret group, it's not searchable and the link doesn't work. I tried responding to you Scwolf, but it told me I'm too new. Wa Wa Waaaaaa lol... My name is Christine Barham - friend me and add me to the group?

forgetmenot21,
I know what you mean about insurance costs; it's terrible! I think the Medi Cal idea is an excellent one. You might also look at 'regular' insurance companies (much as I dislike them). I use Blue Cross. They have some quite low cost plans for young people. Usually you need a high deductible (or "catastrophic") plan, but at least you're covered. Plus Obamacare requires ALL insurance companies to cover your preventive care so things like annuals and paps are free. I bet you can find a plan for cheaper than CSUS's. Check some insurance co websites.
