Sac State BSN Fall 2023

Updated:   Published

Hello! Anyone applying to the BSN program at Sacramento State for Fall 2023? Also, how many points are you guys applying with? Hope to hear from everyone applying!

Hi Everyone! I got in and submitted the ITE and the pre-clinical form on time. Not sure why my major was still under Health Science when I called to register for the orientation. Has anyone had this issue too?

Congrats! Mine still says health science, too. I don't think it's anything to worry about!

Hi everyone! Congrats on getting into the program. My name is Tracy and I am an incoming 3rd-semester nursing student at Sac State. If you guys haven't already, please join the facebook group titled "CSU Sacramento Nursing Class of Spring 2025"! It is the main platform used in the program and is where CNSA and AAMN post opportunities/information.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out! You can email me at [email protected] or add me on facebook--Tracy Nguyen.

I look forward to meeting everyone. Have a great Summer! ?

Hey everyone!

I'll be applying for Spring 2024. Do you know know what the cut-off seems to be so far for your admissions cycle? Seems like only people with 74 points and above have mentioned they got in so far, really hope 74 isn't the cut off IoI

Hi! I am a Fall 2024 CSU Nursing applicant, and I am currently anxiously scrolling through past forums. I see that you were admitted into many of the schools I had applied to, are you comfortable with sharing which one you landed on?

I applied to CSUF, SJSU, Sac State, SFSU, and CSUEB.

I got accepted to all the CSUs you mentioned, but I picked SJSU. SFSU was an option because it's a shorter program, but SJSU is really close to where I live, just 10 minutes away. It's a great school with connections to lots of hospitals in the Bay Area, even Stanford. Fullerton and SDSU are good too, but they're far from me. If you want to work in the Bay Area where they pay well, it's smart to stay nearby.

Thanks for responding, I appreciate it.

Are you happy with your choice? Would you make the same decision if you could choose again? How are the professors and clinical instructors?

SJSU is my top choice!

hi @Robkingg, I just saw that you got selected for CSUF. can you please share me what type of questions do they ask for the interview. I am super nervous. I got invite for an interview for the fall 2024.

Thank you,

Thank you,

I don't remember tbh. I was so anxious and bombed the first question. It was something like a "Why nursing" type question, but then they asked something like, "What does resilience mean to you outside of school?" I was not prepared for it, but I authentically responded with my life experience, and I swear that is what got me in LOL

Yes, I would still choose SJSU. The program is well-established and has many connections with nearby hospitals. Some of the professors are really good, and others not so much, but in general, you will need to do a lot of self-studying and learning in nursing school.

thanks for your quick response! 🙂

As a 1st semester Sac State student, Sac State is amazing too. The faculty is amazing, caring, and really supportive. I would say pick where you want to work! Bay Area or Sacramento, I wanted to work near Sacramento because of the much lower cost of living.

Sac State is very well connected with the local hospitals and they prefer Sac State grads. We also all have mentors which is really helpful, not sure if SJSU has that.
