Did anyone on here apply for Fall 2020 admission to SAC's program and if so, have you heard anything yet?

Hi, I'm currently in Level One. The first semester was going great until they cancelled face to face classes. Online schooling is difficult because even though you get the same material via Zoom, you retain less. You basically have to teach yourself. I'm sure when we get back to school it'll be easier.

My lowest exam grade so far was a 56, but it was my first exam. No one really know how nursing questions will be since they are not black and white. Nursing is gray. However, since I got a 56, I needed to get 78s or higher on all other exams to pass the 1128 class. (You need a 75 average in the class to pass, no rounding.)

The first month was great, it went slow and you had ample amount of time to study. Learning nursing skills was easy, you had 2 weeks to learn. We were only able to test on 2/7 skills before the pandemic. Some of the professors really care about you and others care about the nursing. They only want the best of the best to become nurses.

You have 5 nursing classes your first semester, and that's considered part-time (unless you are going through VA). So I had to take another class to get my full financial aid. It was a LOT but I had to do it. So far I have: A, A, B, B, and a D. But I can still pass this semester if I try hard enough!

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have more questions.

Thank you for the response. Are there strict rules as far as grades go, being part of the program? Do they drop students due to low grades, or what would be a reason to drop a student from the program? I ask because it seems as if, if you don't do well in classes as far as grades go per semester during the program they drop students? Please explain. hope I'm wrong.

Hi All!..for those of you who got accepted , if you don’t mind , what was your TEAS score and science GPA?..thanks

Hi! Level 4 student here. Professors do not drop students, however, it is more of the student's responsibility/choice to drop the class before the drop date and retake it the next semester if they feel like they are failing (in this case you don't lose any points). There's a 10 point system to consider if you fail. For example your theory class is worth 5 units, you lose 5 points out of the 10. If you end up using up all 10 points, you cannot reapply to the program.

My TEAS was on the higher 60s when I got in LOL. My science GPA was around a 3.6. Nothing  too great about my grades but I think my experience as a CNA helped to get in the program. They were still doing the point system at that time, I'm not sure how it works now. But the higher your TEAS and science GPA are, the better chances of you getting in to the program. Good luck!
