SAC - San Antonio College

Did anyone on here apply for Fall 2020 admission to SAC's program and if so, have you heard anything yet?

Hi!

I also applied for Fall 2020. I have not received any information yet other than that notifications are supposed to be sent out this week!! Best of luck to you, fingers crossed!

Hi Mariah!

I emailed this morning and received a response right away that information should go out on Friday. I know that they had canceled the clinicals for this semester and are probably trying to figure out how to proceed with the entire program. Good luck to you as well! ?

Who is currently in the Nursing Program? What was your first semester like? What is the lowest grade accepted when taking exams? Describe how your first month was like when the program began? Do professors genuinely care and want to help you succeed?

I have a question. I want to apply for the Spring RN program. The application deadline is Aug 31st. If I finish my last class on August 13th, will they still accept my application?

Kimberly,

Which class are you completing on Aug. 31st? If you are taking them through Alamo Colleges, I think that you should be OK as they have access to those final grades right away. If it is at another school, you might need to go to the transcript department to make sure that you can get the final grades posted & transcipts in time. This is all just what I think, though. I would email to be sure. The lady to email to ask is very nice and helpful. Her name is Elida Connell and the email address is: [email protected]. Good Luck!

Hi, I'm currently in Level One. The first semester was going great until they cancelled face to face classes. Online schooling is difficult because even though you get the same material via Zoom, you retain less. You basically have to teach yourself. I'm sure when we get back to school it'll be easier.

My lowest exam grade so far was a 56, but it was my first exam. No one really know how nursing questions will be since they are not black and white. Nursing is gray. However, since I got a 56, I needed to get 78s or higher on all other exams to pass the 1128 class. (You need a 75 average in the class to pass, no rounding.)

The first month was great, it went slow and you had ample amount of time to study. Learning nursing skills was easy, you had 2 weeks to learn. We were only able to test on 2/7 skills before the pandemic. Some of the professors really care about you and others care about the nursing. They only want the best of the best to become nurses.

You have 5 nursing classes your first semester, and that's considered part-time (unless you are going through VA). So I had to take another class to get my full financial aid. It was a LOT but I had to do it. So far I have: A, A, B, B, and a D. But I can still pass this semester if I try hard enough!

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have more questions.

I got a email saying I needed to fill out a authorization release form? Once I did that they said I will receive my completion package today? Not sure if that means I got accepted LOL ? Anyone else get that?

Hi, you were accepted! but just as a formality they can't say that. Just in case you fail the drug test or FBI background check. BUT you were accepted ? It takes about a month for the packet to be sent out. Maybe end May, early June. Start getting your shot records together, and proof of no TB.

LOL that’s what I figured! That’s great thank you!

Milani,

Congratulations! I received the same. It is the initial acceptance, like rehmijane said. We have to accept it, and then they do the background check. After we pass that, we should get instructions for the drug test and submitting the vaccination record. The packet will arrive via email on 5/15 if we pass the background check. I can't wait to meet our cohort and commence classes! ?

Good question, I precisely email ***** this morning that same question. I'm a Summer grad 2020 and also wanted to confirm for application. Email her and I can let you know as well.

Another question to you. Have you taken TEAS? How have you prepared for TEAS? And what number is it, TEAS V, TEAS VI??
