Hi! I have a few questions for any LPN student in the 2011 GPC RN Bridge Program. What was your GPA, teas? Did you have to interview? What do they really look for? I have a 3.75 biology gpa, 3.2 overall gpa, and 82% on teas. Is that good enough? Any information will be helpful! I'm having anxiety about if I have good enough grades to get in for 2012. Please help!
The program is okay. It's tough but it's nursing school :) The first semester we took 6 weeks of fundamentals and the rest was med-surg. The toughest thing we had to do was ALL check-offs on one day! One Saturday practice, then one Saturday check-off! Talk about stress. But I believe they might be changing that based on our feedback.
Summer semester was tough! OB, Peds, and Psych in about 10 weeks, including clinicals! The instructors are very supportive! You have an advisor for every course, and if you don't pass any test, you HAVE to meet with them.
We started out 21 LPN's, and we have 17 left I think. Only 2 failed first semester, the other 2 had to quit for personal reasons.
Is the program hard? Yes! It's nursing school. But they really help you out. And if you want it badly enough and put the work into it, you'll do fine. Most of the LPN's work and also juggle family responsibilities, so you won't be alone in that.
I got my letter on Oct 31st! Hope I have helped some
