Hello! I've just completed my application for the Spring 2018 Rutgers ABSN program (applying for both New Brunswick and Newark) and was wondering if anyone else is applying as well? Anyone have an idea how many people are accepted at each campus? Also - does anyone know what the academic calendar will be like, i.e. is there any type of short break in the summer? I was looking around on the website and can't seem to find a tentative calendar for some reason.
Thanks!
Alyssa
What!! Man.. I knew they were not required, but they are still accepted so I figured I'd send one anyway for good measure... I can't believe they said they won't review them! I am going to call back shortly to make sure she got my email, so I'll see what she says about the timeframe for sending decisions.
So I heard that some people already got their acceptances.. Seems kind of weird because I called admissions this morning and they said they haven't sent anything out as of yet. Anyone else hear this?
It's so funny cause I called admission around sept 20 and the person mistaken me for someone else. She goes " congratulations, you have been accepted" . I was like , are you sure ?when she clarified my name , she goes " oh sorry it's someone else." Then we went on with our normal conversation. So, I won't be surprised if people did received acceptance letter.
Omg that's a little absurd lol! They are super disorganized. The person that told me they got accepted is a friend of a friend, but I honestly don't even know if I believe that. Also, I work with someone who's now working as an RN at the hospital I work at and he did his ABSN at RU and he said they exaggerate the timeline; we find out within 2.5 - 4 weeks maximum usually, unless we are waitlisted in which case we find out our ultimate acceptance/denial like 2 months after the deadline. It's so frustrating because I feel like we are all getting different bits/pieces of information.
I just feel like they didn't get 1,000 applicants either. I know they have campuses in NB, Newark and Camden so I'm not sure if it's for all of those but when I spoke to someone in Admissions they said they get a lot more applications for Fall and that it's easier to get into the Spring cycle. I have a friend in the program and she told me the same thing. And that their Admissions office/program is just unorganized in general.

Looks like their Admissions office is a bit unorganized considering we're all getting different answers...
