Hello! I've just completed my application for the Spring 2018 Rutgers ABSN program (applying for both New Brunswick and Newark) and was wondering if anyone else is applying as well? Anyone have an idea how many people are accepted at each campus? Also - does anyone know what the academic calendar will be like, i.e. is there any type of short break in the summer? I was looking around on the website and can't seem to find a tentative calendar for some reason.
Also waiting to hear back. Is it safe to assume I didn't get in since the deposit was already due for students?
I wouldn't say that necessarily. I was waitlisted last cycle and it took awhile to hear back saying I was waitlisted. They pull a lot of people from the waitlist. You may be waitlisted, try to stay positive!

NO!! I just got my acceptance yesterday evening and I called yesterday morning and they said that they are still sending out decisions for the next two weeks. On the phone she told me that they are only sending them out by mail but I actually got email acceptances to both campuses. I got wait listed for the fall and it literally took 10 weeks for me to hear back. Stay positive!! Sending good vibes your way.
Also does anyone know when we graduate if we start in Jan 2018? And how many credits is the program? I saw on the sample curriculum that it's 62 credits but I am not sure if that includes clinical or not.

Hi everyone - I am feeling a little conflicted right now. I was totally set on going to Rutgers but then I got accepted into Emorys direct entry nursing program. My end goal is to be a nurse practitioner, so this seems to fit my goals in a more condensed, shorter period of time. I would not have to worry about taking the GRE or even taking time off and working as an RN after getting my BSN. On the flip side I have heard that some employers truly prefer to hire NP's that have the RN experience in between as well. Has anyone heard anything regarding this that they would be willing to share?
