Rutgers ABSN Requirement

Hi, my name is Sarah and I am preparing to apply to Rutgers ABSN-Newark for Fall 2015. Reading many posts at allnurses.com is very helpful. I regret not visiting this site earlier!

I would like to know where I can take interpersonal communication pre-requisite course. I've looked into all community colleges and university nearby and none of them offer that course. At Rutgers NB, this course is offered; however, two courses are required for interpersonal communication. This is very frustrating!

If anyone has taken this course, please let me know!!!

Hi Sarah!

I used the NJ Transfer website to find equivalents for this course. They offer it in a few places, definitely County College of Morris and Atlantic Cape. I went with Atlantic online, as it was the least expensive option for online out of county tuition. The class is offered fall, spring, and at least once in the summer. I really liked it, though I wasn't too excited about taking at it first.

That class is offered at Brookdale, OCC and Middlesex County College. It can also be taken online through Thomas Edison.

Hi dnt521, would you happen to know the name of the Interpersonal Communication course offered at Brookdale or OCC? I could not find the equivalent on the Brookdale or OCC website.

The course itself is called Interpersonak Communications. Search for SPCH 130.

hi, i'll be applying to the ABSN program too. Are we allowed to have one outstanding prerequisite course while applying?
